The 58K Democratic advantage in early voting here is generally considered to translate roughly the results from 2004 here. Sounds, gotta say, about right.

538.com.  That map is beautiful, and probably dead-on.

Pre-determined result, as he more or less claims. I wonder if he just makes a couple calls and then tweaks ones he has on file.

So at this point Ras has Romney winning NC, VA, FL, CO, IA, OH, and NH with WI tied.

I'm curious. Does anyone here think that is going to happen?  If so how much are you willing to bet.

Scott is really laying things on the line here and hedging his bet that Romney wins this race. If he doesn't, his reputation will take a huge hit.

I think Romney will win FL, NC, VA, CO, NH and WI. I'm sure he won't win IA.

I already have a bet with a friend of mine (whoever loses pays dinner).

Yeah, pretty much. It would be almost like the hit Zogby took in 2004.

I hope he sticks to his guns at this point though now. I don't want to see him magically switch every important state from a small Romney lead to a small Obama lead in the last 24-48 hours.

Are you seriously willing to bet Romney sweeps ALL those non-IA states??

Let me know. I'll take that bet.

By the way, the bet you are proposing isn't fair. I lose if Romney doesn't carry just one of those states, all of which are rated either tossup or lean Obama.

Romney is clearly likelier to win IA than NH or WI. It's a matter of probabilities -- what you're saying isn't impossible but looks very unlikely.

Well, that's what it sounded like you bet with your friend. That's why I was so eager to get a piece of that action. Grin

So what was your bet with your friend?

For that matter, what do you propose as a bet here. Wink

The bet with my friend was: Who will win the election?
I said Romney. He said Obama.

I simply couldn't believe people would vote to reelect someone as ineffective as President Obama.

Turns out people are smart enough to realize that the Republicans in congress were literally acting for the sole purpose of destroying him.
