Hmmmmm, that's what some of us have been saying, that's a double whammy when on top of that you're down in the EV big time vs 08....

Rigged polls might be doing Obama disservice.

The prevailing narrative is that Obama is winning handily.
Some of his Election Day support might not materialize due to the perceived lead in the polls.
Obama opponents, on the other hand, have nothing to lose and everything to gain by turning out en masse. The mere thought of suffering another four years under Obama is enough to motivate the silent majority.

Wow... Stretch Armstrong didn't stretch as much as Major Garrett did there. Obama campaign admits some early voters are strong Dems? Uh, no sheet.

Yeah I agree, however this was their best plan can't fault them, they needed to supress the GOP turnout, the lib polls were part of that but I think most republicans see through that, the other part was the Dems were banking on winning the EV narrative so it would support the poll propaganda.

Unfortunately the GOP killed the EV strategy and the house of cards is toppling:)

The early vote for both campaigns includes people who would have voted on election day anyhow.  Does the Romney early vote include fewer committed voters and more potentially persuadable voters than the Obama early vote?  Maybe, there is no real way to know.

In any case, I don't think turnout is driven by what 538 says the day before the election.  The people who are reading newspapers or watching the news enough to know what the polls say are probably going to vote.  Enthusiasm matters for grassroots efforts but ultimately, an apathetic vote is worth the same as an enthusiastic vote.

Romney has been targeting soft voters to vote early and not asking "perfect" voters who vote every election to vote early.  That has been their strategy.

But is the Obama campaign strategy significantly different when it comes to early voters?

Rumor mill is circling like this for Ohio:

Early Vote - Obama 48, Romney 46

Election Day Vote - Romney wins by 8 pts with stronger Indy and Republican Vote, leading to a 4% victory in the state.

Unnamed GOP Insider is saying: Romney wins, period.
Gonna be a long night for dems.

Well that seals it then. A GOP operative thinks Romney is going to win Ohio.

Knock me over with a feather.

Sounds like the "rumors" that crop up at the last minute when a candidate is losing. Lots of them gets made up on the spot.

No need for a rumor, it's a logical conclusion from looking at what's going on right now.

Just like the logical conclusion that Obama is going to win the election because every electoral college site has him in the lead.

But that hasn't stopped your efforts to bring the silly back.

Because the Internet has never been wrong before! Hahaha
Anyways, I refer you to the Alberta provincial election 2012. Every pollster was wrong, no one predicted a pc majority.. I draw another parallel between 'racist' and 'corrupt'. Corrupt was the battle cry of the anti-pc vote in AB, no one wanted to publicly admit to voting in a party blatantly seen as corrupt, yet on election day they voted overwhelmingly for pc, pollsters threw out every excuse in the books. And now we have the left even more vitriolic in their calls of 'racist racism!!' and no one publicly wants to be seen as supporting that, so they press the button knowing on election day how they'll really be voting...

Albertans pollsters were polling one electorate : Alberta's. US pollsters are polling, you know, 50 electorates : the f***ing United States. For a year now.

Plus your argument about Alberta is about how an incumbent won an election which many said it had lost to an improbable challenger...
