Red = yes, no excuse needed
Green = yes, if fits certain reasons
Blue = no
Gray = other (OR - all are mail-in; GA - a week prior to the election (no excuse), before that (need excuse))

Surprised a bit, would have thought that the Dem states would be bigger on early voting. Looks more like east vs. west.

It looks like the more machine-flavored the state is, the less early voting they have.  The major exception is MN, but they make up for it with same-day registration.

I also think that you will see NY, NJ, CT and potentially PA adding more early voting in the future if turnout is way down this year after the storm.

I hope so.  In NY just to get an absentee ballot is a chore and to early vote in person you have to travel or be infirm or something.

Romney: 44%
Obama: 42%
Kucingh: 12%
Reagan: 5%
John: 4%

Returns From Ohio:

Obama: 45%
Romny: 41%
Regan: 12%
John: 10%

Returns from iowa:

John: 78%
Other person: the rest of it
