I really didn't expect him to perform that poorly. Part of me even worried that he'd win.

The lesson to be learned - don't piss off the ladies.

I'm laughing so much over Claire McCaskill of all people winning in one of the biggest landslides this year. For some perspective, Elizabeth Emken is currently at 39.6 against Dianne Feinstein, 0.4% better than Asshole Akin. LOL!

Even though they gave President Obama a pretty miserable result, I will applaud the people of Missouri for rejecting what would be an absolute disgrace of a Senator. It shouldn't be forgotten that Senator McCaskill is really something of an evil genius (politically-speaking) considering how she basically selected her own opponent (and then waited until the deadline to unleash nuclear war).

Yes I'm somewhat surprised by the margin of the presidential race in Missouri. The margin in Georgia was closer.

The era of Missouri as a swing state is officially over.

Yes alas but Georgia's a much bigger pot and growing, and it should be swinging in another 8 years.

More that Team Obama didn't really try this time.

Thank you, Tea Partiers, for wasting another GOP gain on ideological purity.

When a candidate is a legitimate Inkshole, a state has a way of shutting that down.

The hilarious bit is, Akin was the establishment in Missouri's primary.

True, this was't some random guy who happened to win the primary, this was a 6 term Congressman who had an uninterrupted 24 years of elected positions all come to an end because of an incredibly stupid comment.

Akin was one of "4 idiots" (the other being Mourdock, Mandel and West in House) whom i dearly wanted to see defeated. And saw that. If only Michelle Bachmann could be added to that list)))

This is beautiful indeed. I honestly didn't imagine he would lose by so much, I even feared it would be closer than polls suggested... This is a very pleasant sign and a heartwarming sign for American politics: even in a conservative State, you can't be an demented moron and win. Massive kudos to Missouri, and hopefully the GOP will learn the lesson.
