So, I just wrote up a very angry post riddled with swearing about how much I've lost all patience with your little act here, but instead of posting that, I'm just going to say that I object, because I'm not usually one that's in the business of dictating what study committees can or cannot say.

I also object. We tax job creators a ridiculous amount in order to pay for massive programs. I want a balanced budget, but, unfortunately, there aren't many expenditures that will ever make it to the chopping block. Setting standards for our foreign aid disbursements might help us cut down. That said, I'm not even sure that we currently do give out foreign aid. Its inclusion in this bill is partly symbolic: We're prepared to punish dictators who have horrific human rights records.

On the flipside, nothing in this bill would preclude the commission from actually suggesting new places where aid would be warranted.

I haven't seen a good explanation as to why this is a problem other then knee-jerk reactions on the issue, seems like the opposite of knee-jerk isolationism. We can't even evaluate whether or not we are getting screwed or our money is being used to buy weapons to engage in genocide, without it being "isolationist". It is the same approach and thought process that drives the isolationist, just from the opposite direction.
