maybe it is too early.   but i think he would be a great national candidate.  should appeal to the red-staters.

although i was somewhat surprised and disappointed that he did only slightly better than obama in va.  i figured he would do 4-5 points better.

Having a Virginian as the presidential candidate (or even vice-presidential) would be a very good electorally for the Dems.  Though the Virginian you want is Mark Warner, not Tim Kaine.

mark warner has shown that (for whatever reason) he doesnt want too much digging into his background.

i dont expect him to run for president.

I like both Virginians, and either of them running for President would be great. Warner doesn't seem to be really interested in the Presidency though, and Kaine just won his seat. I doubt either of them will run in the end.

I currently have Kaine as the VP nominee under Andrew Cuomo.

I'm expecting that he'll wind up as a VP contender again.

Kaine is good, but Warner would be so much better.

Too early to judge because he'll most likely be judged on his time as a senator instead of his time as governor. It's more likely that he'll be considered for VP.

Kaine hasn't really done anything to indicate that he's interested in running yet.  But of course, he was just in a competitive senate race, so he couldn't afford to be looking ahead to 2016.  I still say that the Dems will field a male/female or female/male ticket in '16, but if a woman is heading the ticket, Kaine will certainly be near the top of the list for prospective running mates.

Much prefer Kaine to Warner. I hope Hillary chooses him as her running mate.
