No, Bush can't. It has to be someone new like a Rubio for instance.

Also, the Republicans aren't not going to be able to out amnesty the Democrats with OBama in office. Whatever passes will become his success and his legacy. So for Republicans who think that is the silver bullet, they better stop and think about doing what is really important and that is retooling their policy war chest and then aggressivly marketing a small gov't platform to all Amercians with Hispanics and Asians topping the list of course. It requires someone to think outside of the box and so far both the reaction to the defeat and the mistakes that led to it in the first place are both being driven by the same poor conceived and simplistic thought process.

I don't.

Remember, it is their fault partially that the party is in such disarray now and they are the reason the brand is so tarred to begin with. We could have easily have ended up like the GOP in the 1930's, as a result of all the crap they let slip by from Wall Street to Bagdad.

GOP -

How about this, instead of nominating a token Latino, why don't you actually try to moderate your stance on the issue.

It isn't about tokenism and I wouldn't even think of the possibility of Rubio as a contender if he was bland and boring "just another GOP Senator", regardless of his Cuban origins. Lets say this were Mel Martinez for instance, instead. The answer would be no.

And if any Republican does seriously think it is that simple, "nominate a hispanic, demographic problem solved", they are seriously delusional. If Republicans win Hispanics, it will be on a message anchored in economic freedom and opportunity, education reform and other such issues. The reason Rubio has such potential, is that he can deliver such a message with passion and some charisma.
