If the premise of your thread was, "Most people on this forum would've supported the Nazis in the 1933 election", why didn't you just say that instead of making a poll?

And mine was honest.  I've always had a passionately strong dislike for nationalism; I certainly wouldn't have supported the communist party.

The Centre party's support for reducing unemployment benefits would've been something that appealed to me ideollogically, and I would've sided with the BVP most as slightly more conservative that the Centre Party.

I've never understood the "the majority/almost all of the forum would've supported the Nazis" meme when the Nazis didn't even get a majority in that election. And their supporters were the type of people who would support the Front Nationale and Partij voor de Vrijheid today, not the demographics of this forum.

Anyway I voted for the Communists. With hindsight the SPD obviously, so I'm being honest.

Yeah, probably this.

I could see an alternate version of myself being drawn to the trappings, pageantry and god and country rhetoric of National socialism.  However, the thuggish behavior and brutality would likely be a total deal breaker.

The German side of my family is Lutheran so I doubt that an expressly Catholic party would have been a viable option.  Given that some elements of socialism were necessary back then, I'd hopefully choose SDP.

I have both German Catholic and German Lutheran ancestry so I have a tough time thinking of that divide as even relevant.
