It was an automated poll, focusing on the upcoming Senate appointment as well as the 2014 races for Senate and Governor and the 2016 GOP Presidential primary.

They had nine choices on their who should Nikki appoint question, which if I recall correctly were the five current GOP congressmen, former AG Henry McMaster, both Mark and Jenny Sanford, and last but not least Stephen Colbert despite his milk disqualification. (Altho actually he was the first of their listed choices.)

With Cain's endorsement, nothing can get in the way of future Senator Stephen Colbert!

Surely Colbert is as qualified as anyone else on that list to be a Senator.

It'd be the ultimate troll if Colbert was put in the senate and then kept up his persona, trolling through the Senate for the rest of his term with a 100% ACU, NRA, etc. scorecard and filibustering the President's judicial nominees.  Talk about staying in character.

Oh God, I would LOVE this to happen. Since a SC Senator is bound to have a reactionary voting record anyways, at least he would make Senate sessions so much funnier...

Colbert man, and I actually think he would be a good Senator (Al Franken turned out fine and Glen Taylor back in the 40s was basically a clown troupe comedian)

Colbert.  If he makes fun of Mitch enough, maybe he'll stop his stupid, stupid fillibustering all the time. Plus, Franken's awesome, and Colbert's in the Jon Stewart "I'm funny AND my viewers are better-informed than yours" boat.
