According to one of my facebook friends, Despicable Me 2 is coming out next summer, and Toy Story 4, Finding Nemo 2, and another Monster's, Inc are all in the works.  We are about ready to ambushed by sequels of 4 extremely good Disney movies.

My question, is what the heck is Toy Story 4 going to be about?

I saw the truncated title of this thread "So there's a rash..." and the poster who'd made it and I thought Bushie was going to regale us with a tale of some new rash he had found on his body!

Imagine the disappointment when you open up the present and its clothes.

By the way, I would have put that in the Update thread.

Anyone else not a big fan of Disney films. everyone seems to love them but I don't really care for them.

Mediocre children's movies come out in bunches every year.

I am incredibly excited for these; Toy Story 4, however, won't be happening.

But Despicable Me wasn't Disney... it's likely that's he/she is BS-ing. I do know another Monsters Inc. is coming though.

Not there is one in the works, but since Toy Story was 81 minutes, Toy Story 2 was 92 minutes, and Toy Story 3 was 103 minutes, I would expect a future Toy Story 4 to be about 114 minutes.

Despicable Me wasn't Disney; it was distributed by Universal.  Toy Story 3 seemed to end the series pretty well; why make another film?  And why is Disney still doing nothing for the 75th anniversary of Snow White?

But Despicable Me wasn't Disney... it's likely that's he/she is BS-ing. I do know another Monsters Inc. is coming though.

You're probably right.

Exactly.  I love Disney but I hate how they are running themselves into the ground.  And I'm a 19-year old man.  I hate CGI animation with every fiber of my being.  It's cold, it's ugly, and the stories are weak.

Well, you can't judge a form of animation based on the fact that some stories are bad. Toy Story's good.

Agreed.  But that's much more the exception than the rule.  Toy Story 1-3 are the only CGI films I've seen that have anywhere near as good a quality of stories as traditional animation.

Perhaps Disney would consider doing a sequel to The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band?  It generally is considered to be a bad movie, but since the film involves political campaigning for Cleveland and Harrison in 1888 Dakota Territory, it might appeal to a few people here.

Nope.  Hanks talked about it as a possibility, but neither Pixar nor Disney confirmed it.  What he may have been referring to is a pair of half hour Toy Story holiday specials planned for Holloween 2013 and Easter 2014.

http://www.bigscreenanimation.com/2012/06/exclusive-toy-story-4-5-planned-for.html

The Halloween one is to be titled Toy Story of Terror not Toy Story 4, and I expect the Easter special will also have a non numeric title.

Pixar's lost its magic in recent years, with the awful Cars movies and the just decent movie about the Scottish princess or whatever. They're at their best when making original stories instead of milking Cars again (which they only do because the merchandise has insanely good sales).

Pixar lost its magic after Toy Story 2, and only regained it briefly for Toy Story 3.  Other than that, most Pixar animation, like most CGI animation, has been awful.
