How do you have 30gb of porn? Like, how would you even watch all that? Are you masturbating seven times a day or something?

turns out it is actually 54.5gb.  most of it is from a single massive torrent siterip of a performer I am fond of, 80% it I have not watched.

That answer was a lot better than I was expecting.

The enjoyment of, is the clearest sign of a repugnant character.

I think how someone acts to others (such as how you are acting now) is a much better indicator of "repugnant character" than how someone acts alone in the privacy of their own home.

Well said!

That said- this would be a more interesting poll if it focused on BBW...

Personally I think torturing animals for amusement is quite a big clearer in terms of measuring that.

Pornography is 'entertainment'? I doubt anyone is really all that entertained by it. (well, it takes all sorts and all that,...)

Hint: you don't 'watch' porn, you 'use' it.

The enjoyment of, is the clearest sign of a repugnant character.

Personally I think torturing animals for amusement is quite a big clearer in terms of measuring that.

Is it all that different, though? Isn't humiliation the central dimension of pornography? Isn't what excites in it exactly the thought of the total humiliation of the 'performers', their very sexuality now pulled into the domain of commerciality? 'Imagine being reduced to that!'.

'Everything is about sex, except for sex itself, which is about power.' Is that Wilde?

Of course, watching pornography doesn't make you a repugnant character. Neither does, one supposes, enjoying watching the death of small rodents, though the latter quite possibly indicates you're sick.

No, I think vagina is the central dimension of pornography.

If anything porn objectifies men. Women are the stars of the show; men are just an all-but-disembodied penis.

Humiliation is a central part of some pornography, but I don't think that's what gets most people who watch porn off. And I especially doubt that most viewers have even thought about the commercial aspect of it.

Most porn involves people who are enjoying the act, both male and female, so they aren't really experiencing humiliation. I think it's actually more likely the opposite of what you're thinking - the sheer shamelessness of it is probably more appealing to most people.

Yes, Gustaf, you clearly know the inner desires, goals and ambitions of every single female on Earth.

Clearly the female actresses are the "stars" of most porn productions, they get paid significantly more than male actors, are significantly more famous, etc. Don't be a dumb.

Well, the quality of the actoral work in the majority of these productions is clearly improvable. My general impression when I have seen some fragment of a movie of this genre - many of my (male) friends are charmed with them - hasn't been watching people enjoying it, but exercising an act in a repeated and mechanical way. I prefer the robot movies regarding mechanical acts, honestly. On the other hand, without pretending to pass for a radical feminist and without trying to ruin the enjoyment of the people, there is something of truth regarding the conversion of the woman in object.

No, I don't, which is why I wouldn't make such a silly statement. I think you would find that most of the money probably ends up with the male producers of the porn. And that a very small percentage of women in porn have anything close to fame and stardom.

But, sure, start a movement for the rights of men in the porn industry. I'm sure lots of women will support the brave fight.

I certainly don't object to pornography as an idea, I do have significant issues with the industry that produces it.

Freedom, I guess, but also dangerous. Not physically of course (hopefully), but I've heard a few stories of guys getting too addicted to it and only being able to get off to it, even when engaging with other people.

Neutral entertainment. Useful when it's needed, but one can't help but feel a bit of shame afterwards.

Not shame, more like "I can't believe I just got off to that..."
