You guys have much better options than Romney lined up for 2016 if you want them.

No one knows what kind of president Romney would have been because no one has a clue of what Willard actually thinks or believes. Personally, I wouldn't have mind Ol' Moderate Mitt.

I have to agree.

To win the nomination Romney had to turn to the right to defeat wingnuts Santorum and Gingrich, and this did tremendous damage to his candidacy.

THE REVOLUTION OF 2016

HISTORIC VICTORY FOR THIRD-PARTY SLATE

Amid growing dissatisfaction with the polarization of the two-party system, America voted in the first non-Democrat/Republican ticket since the election of 1848. Governor Chris Christie, the Republican Governor of New Jersey who left the party in disgust after a series of high-profile disputes with the leadership, won a narrow electoral victory and avoiding what was sure to be a controversial battle in the House to decide the three-way race. The Democratic ticket of Senator Elizabeth Warren and Former Governor Martin O'Malley struggled from the start as a team of northeastern liberals, while the Republican ticket of Former Governor Bobby Jindal and Senator Rand Paul started out with a lead, but was dogged throughout by controversial statements about abortion and social security. That left an opening for Christie, who led a bipartisan ticket with former Indiana Senator Evan Bayh and was bankrolled by Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who endorsed the independent ticket early on. A narrow victory in the hotly contested state of Texas sealed the election for Christie around 3 AM last night. Now, the President-Elect will begin his transition with the difficult task of creating a bipartisan coalition for his Cabinet.

Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ)/Former Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) - 272 electoral votes, 40.1% of the popular vote.
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)/Former Governor Martin O'Malley (D-MD) - 149 electoral votes, 32.2% of the popular vote
Former Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA)/Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) - 117 electoral votes, 27.4% of the popular vote

You are aware Indiana bans it in 2014 Reagan Style. In 2013 the SCOTUS upholds the states rights to determine marriage laws.

To jump in.:

Uprising

Rand Paul/Susan Martinez win 2016 Reagan 1984 style after double dip recession Deval Patrick/Charlie Crist confounded.

Hillary Clinton seems like the likeliest next President, because she has a better chance of being the Democratic nominee than any of the top-tier Republican candidates (Paul Ryan, Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie) does of being their party's nominee. So even though the Republicans have a better chance of winning, she has a better chance of being President than any individual Republican candidate.

"MADAME PRESIDENT! Hillary's Historic Win!" with sub headlines about the ticket and odd factors about the election. For example- "Close Virginia win seals Clinton/ Kaine election."

There would be similar Madame President headlines for Kirsten Gilibrand, Susanna Martinez, Elizabeth Warren and .

Puns about size would be possible in a Chris Christie victory. "Big Win!" or "Narrow Win For Big Man."

If Jeb Bush wins, expect the family to be mentioned. So it could be "Jeb! Another Bush in the White House!"

Paul Ryan would probably have a dull headline like "Ryan! House Budget Chair Wins Presidency." It could also be based on a slogan of the 2012 campaign.

If anyone's interested, here's a collection of 2008 election day headlines.

http://obama2008.s3.amazonaws.com/headlines.html

There were a few references to "Change!" and "Yes We Can!"

NM has been close in 2000 and 2004. Who says its impossible? The Republicans taking PA and loosing Ohio on the other hand, is way out there.

And it's unconstitutional for Clinton to pick Cuomo as her running-mate. Unless she changes her residence back to Arkansas, she needs a new VP.

MURICA!!!: Gohmert/West narrowly defeats Manchin/Brown

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX)/Gov. Allen West (R-FL.) - 284 EVs, 47.5%
Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV)/Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH.) - 254 EVs, 51%

Lowest Turn out In Election History!

In spite of losing the popular vote, Louie Gohmert, congressman from Texas and famous pro-claimer of "Terror Babies", has won the presidency, in spite of even the last poll before the election showing Manchin/Brown up by ten points or more. Looking at the results, though, its easy to see why. Joe Manchin was a very conservative democrat, and did not inspire democrats to vote, explaining the extremely low turn out from Democrats, in spite of a Republican ticket so ridiculous (or maybe because of that too). It was also, in many ways, because Gohmert and West put a lot of their focus on the rust belt, where they had been gaining some traction considering the social conservatism of many swing voters in that region. Overall, this one is for the history books, a true shocker!

I disagree, actually. If I recall correctly, quite a few polls in the spring actually had Romney doing better in PA than OH. That said, I think Martinez, as a candidate, is still a better fit for Ohio.

He's MURICA's Governor, successfully primaries Rick Scott, Dem's nominate some uber liberal FDP hack who has a huge scandal happen two weeks away from the election.

Gohmert wins the Republican nomination thanks to a huge fight in Iowa between Bobby Jindal and Marco Rubio, wins South Carolina thanks to a big fight between Marco Rubio and Chris Christie, and thanks to infighting within the party, he manages to swipe the nomination from the front-runners hands. Moderates do not vote, as the moderate independent candidacy of Huntsman/Hagel collapses half-way through due to a plane crash.
