I don't like his style. I understand he's direct, but to me, he can border on being rude. I'll abstain.

Questioning your position on a social issue is being rude?

Well, to his credit, he did get me thinking about that specific issue more critically and I ended up changing my position.

What position did you change?

Gay marriage.

I missed that. Last month I was arguing with you on it. Good news though Smiley

You were a very good Warsaw tour guide... Smiley

I only wish you had more time so I could have show you more than downtown.

My favourite person on this forum. Great on politics and as a person. And as other's have also said, he's very good company to have a beer with IRL. Smiley

I've been meaning to respond to this one for a while…

At least he doesn't creepily watch kids TV like someone learning how to groom.

I see. Mr Sibboleth, are you aware that, in the past two weeks, you have mentioned MLP a grand total of infinity times as often as I have?*
There's a pretty simple reason for that -- it is because of this kind of elementary-school-playground-type nonsense where you or Franzl (or others) distract from the fact that they have no substantive argument by dragging in the opponent's taste in television.
Whether someone watches My Little Pony doesn't say anything** about their political beliefs. It doesn't say anything about their demographics. It doesn't say anything about their social life. It doesn't say anything about their intelligence or education level. It doesn't say anything about their creativity. I could continue for ages…
Type-casting a group of people while (apparently) not knowing anything about them is bad. That applies to bronies just as much as to any other group.

*This doesn't count, as I was directly responding to Franzl.
**By which I mean there is no significant difference to frequent Internet users, not the population as a whole.

It's always sad to see someone transform from a brilliant poster to an antirealitarian hack.

Fortunately, you'll never have to worry about step one of that process.

Franzl >> Oakvale. I'll give him that.

Franzl is someone with some rather HP-ish political beliefs and is very quick to judgment, though he seems to be an alright guy in real life. I abstained.

Agreed on the first point, but calling Franzl's entirely sensible political views "horrible" is pretty rich coming from oh god what's the point?

I guess I'd be one of the few Oakvale>Franzl folks here.

I still feel somewhat uncomfortable taking a whiz behind the altar where the mens room is, Badg.  Smiley

After looking through his posts he seems like he is very good on fiscal and economic issues but bad on social issues. But I vote FF because he seem like a nice chap.

I think I'd have a better grasp on that than you. Smiley
