In this matchup given the political climate in 2010, would  Pataki reclaim the governoship or would Paterson retain his seat?

Pataki would easily win. Giuliani was absolutely destroying Paterson in the polls, and I think even Lazio was polling ahead of him. And the mood got even more favorable to the GOP later in 2010.

I'd say Pataki wins around 58-38.

Paladino could've had an upset too, and he's freaking CARL PALADINO. I mean, if you compare the Lazio-Cuomo polls and the Paladino-Cuomo polls, Paladino was actually doing somewhat better or was on the same level.

Pataki wins in a landslide.  I'll include a map later.

I guess Pataki wins, though not by a landslide. Something like 52-45% seems very much possible.

Why was Paterson so unpopular?
