Greatly Approve.

From my internetting experience, the only real freedom libertarians approve of is your freedom to convert and become a libertarian. All else is secondary.

I believe it is a false distinction.

I doubt anyone will care outside of a few very overzealous libertarians on the internet. What is more disturbing is that this Free State group seems only to exist to encourage their members to move to New Hampshire just to influence elections. That sort of thing is more than a little creepy.

Why? How is "voting with your feet" more illegitimate then voting with your wallet, or with your willingness to pester others on campaigns?

Who cares if libertarians take over one tiny state? It would actually be interesting to see how they would run things and what the results would be. I understand that this legislator probably has deep ties to New Hampshire and isn't willing to give it up, but in the grand scheme of things, having libertarians control it would not transform the country.

^^^Give us a few states, give the liberals a few, the Santorums a few, and after 5-10 years we can meet, compare notes, and see what works. Worth a shot.

In my opinion, I just think trying to take over one state to create a specific society is creepy, especially when it involves a group that includes anarchists.

I hate to ruin New Hampshire, but if libertarians are moving there that means there are less of them in the other states.  The rest of the country will be better off.

And the freedom for them to take over a state's government in what amounts to a bloodless coup.

As I recall, she's a carpetbagger from another New England state.

Making a State less desirable for libertarians generally involves making it objectively better (especially since it's a Dem that's talking, so he isn't talking about SoCon sh*t). So, I'm fine with it.

That's not a rule I'd use Antonio, adding more draconian drug penalties would make somewhere less desirable for libertarians for example. Libertarians approved of the Colorado and Washington pot referendums.

Of course that would be the best way to do things, but ...ahem.....certain groups don't want that.  You can guess why.

As much as I keep hearing about this story, I have yet to find a single article describing exactly what this legislator intends to do.

I'm trying to figure out why this is a story in the first place.....have the Free State people had some success in the last couple of years I hadn't heard about?  They've been trying this for decades now right?

Some right-wingers almost got a so-called "right-to-work" law passed there about 2 years ago. I don't know if the Free State Project was behind that, but if they were, they have no business calling themselves libertarians. "Right-to-work" laws clearly violate libertarian principles.

Which ones?  We haven't had a "libertarianism explained by non-libertarians" thread in a couple of months, we are more than due!  And Gully is here, always a bonus on this topic.

Right-to-scab laws restrict what workers do. It forces unionized workers to work for free to subsidize nonunion labor, and bars them from freely bargaining.
