...but there are plenty of stories about the personal lives of other political families in the news. It's not as if it's only one "type" of political family that makes the news.

Honestly, he should have been arrested even if we had a reasonable drinking age, because apparently he was going about shouting obscenities and acting drunkenly on a plane.

You know, as stupid as the 21 drinking age is, it's even more stupid that America actually arrests people for this.

Usually that doesn't happen, just a citation at most...actually upon reading the story closer, it seems he wasn't arrested for that, but rather drunken disorderly conduct. So I have to take back the bit about how he did nothing wrong.

Two things people are overlooking:

1. This was a flight from Lexington to CLT - which can't be more than an hour.

2. It wasn't even 11am.

How in God's name do you manage to get drunk on a flight that's too short to even have drink service, BEFORE NOON? Was he shotgunning beers in the car on his way to the airport?

Maybe he took a bunch of shots before getting a ride to the airport.

Do you mean to tell me someone from that clan might be trash? No!

What's "trash" about that? Kids at my college drank similar amounts all the time.

Getting drunk on a hour long flight before noon is pretty trashy. So is covering up other Senators adultery, condemning abortion while your wife had an affair with an abortionist, and then blaming that same wife for writing controversial segments of your book.

The old day drunk. Likely still out from the night before or woke up after a short spell still loaded. Or maybe he is like Bushie and showed up 12 hours before his flight and got plastered at a pliant airport bar.

That I doubt. Most airport bars in the US literally ID every customer.

Uh...Karen became Pro Life after her relationship with the doctor which was well before she met, dated and married Santorum (nice try with the wording though, making it seem like she had this affair while married to Santorum). Why the hell would Rick's views on the issue matter at all? Husbands and wives don't disagree/don't act differently later in life? I haven't the slightest idea why that would contradict Santorum's belief. It certainly isn't trashy but I understand that you had to go for the reach.

You have a lot of growing up to do, kid.

Oh, and is this a Ron Paul fan bashing others for passing off responsibly for controversial writings? Really? You want to jump into that hole? Read any of Dr. Paul's (?) newsletters recently?

Your the one who called the Paul family "trash." And I am showing you what I see as "trash" in the Santorum clan.

Yeah, and it has been proven time and time again that he allowed those awful things in his newsletter in order to sell his newsletter. Pretty bad thing, no doubting that. I never whitewashed Paul for it, and it does not disqualify him from the Presidency, nor does Rick Santorum's personal issues disqualify him.

That doesn't make it any good.

Is your wife's having an affair with an abortionist supposed to make Santorum amenable to abortion? Because that seems to be what you are suggesting.

No, I am suggesting it is highly hypocritical for him to be dragging her along the campaign spreading their pro life message with this history. Yes people change over time, there is no doubting that. Maybe they truly care about the issue of life now and are not pandering to the dying evangelical branch of the Republican Party. Or maybe not-remember, in 1996, Santorum stood behind Arlen Specter as he announced his failed Presidential bidand applauded when Specter specifically declared his support for a woman’s right to choose. So for one to call the Paul family trash, and then defend Santorum while at the same time attacking the Paul supporters for defending Paul seems disingenuous.

I'm not entirely sure why this is news, except I am (good fun for tabloids). To be honest, drinking at 11 AM and being disruptive on an airplane is probably going to get you arrested. Just thoughts...

I am not even going to jump into this juicy Santorum-Paul fight.
