Ten years ago, I would have been, but not now.  They're always coming up with new ones, and I can never keep up.  Plus, I quit playing those games for religious reasons.

Lol, what? There really is almost nothing to do with religion in the whole franchise.

The last generation of Pokemon I partook in was Ruby/Sapphire. So not really.

He might be referring to the fact that pokemon "evolve". As I recall he belongs to a fundamentalist denomination (Seventh-Day Adventists?), so that may be an issue for him.

A shame that they're taking the easy way out, really.
I, for one, would've bought games called "Pokémon Periwinkle" and "Pokémon Heliotrope." And I've never played any of these before.

Nah, the whole Pokemon thing has gone downhill in the last 2-3 years and it's time to finish it IMO.

Not really.  It has more to do with the fact that there were psychic and ghost Pokemon.  Plus, I heard somewhere that Pokemon is supposed to mean "pocket devil."  Granted, I know it was originally called Pocket Monsters in Japan, but still...
FTR, the farthest I went with the games was Fire Red and Leaf Green.

Don't be silly. Tongue

Black and White were great games and a much needed fresh start (a region with only new Pokemon in it, instead of a new region where you were just catching the same old Pokemon, as well as placing a heavier emphasis on an actual story than the other games) and broke sales records against all the other Pokemon games. It's still very much going strong and remains as creative as it was to begin with.

I admit I didn't pay much attention to black and white. Maybe I'm just losing interest into it.

Yeah, that's all fundy propaganda. Really anything bad you hear about the franchise is fundy propaganda. But if you don't like the franchise because of psychic and ghost types, while I don't know how that's a problem I'm not going to berate you for it.

LOL I've heard a lot of sermons where the pastor talks about how his daughters love Pokemon and once he once he talked about his 9 year old always asks him to pray with her so she can catch a certain Pokemon. This is a great example of legalism.

To quote one of our serieses oldiesfreak, you need to reject the bad news of the church and embrace the good news of Jesus Christ.
