I won't cast a vote in this poll since I reject the concept of being pro-abortion. I am pro-choice and do support abortion rights, but I do not view abortion in a favorable light. On the gun issue, I'm probably pretty much anti-gun, though I am a lot more pragmatic on the issue than I used to be.

Gun Rights-  No assault weapon ban (there's just too damn many and this situation is really just boiling down to them falling into the hands of the deranged), Yes to universal background checks ( In most states, you have to be ruled by a judge as crazy or basically get arrested for a non-violent felony or misdemeanor domestic abuse twice (provided that's the only reason you have ever been arrested and you can actually get a First Offender option)) I guess this gives like a B or A- from the NRA....though maybe slightly lower because maybe there should be discretionary mental health hearings to determine someone defective if they have been put under observation or if a mental health professional  under extreme circumstances can refer a patient to a hearing like that.

Abortion Rights- There should be no new federal abortion restrictions and there should be more exceptions for the ban on public funding of abortion though I would stop short of allowing for a full reversal of the public funding ban (like when the fetus is most likely missing more than one limb or one major functioning body system, at least considerably intellectually handicapped or will be born terminally ill or the mother is under 16). There should be no more official controversy on funding to domestic or international family planning organizations or embryonic stem cell research. There should also be more emphasis on reducing the stigma of sex. I also think the dangers of human cloning are perhaps overhyped. Probably an A-.

Don't know how to answer the poll really... I think abortion should always be banned, and that guns should be banned only in certain circumstances. Where do we draw the line at being "pro-gun"?

I think of myself as being generally supportive of one's right to own a gun, with reasonable and prudent restrictions. I also think of myself as being generally supportive of a woman's right to have an abortion, with reasonable and prudent restrictions.

That could theoretically put my in any of those boxes.

A real native of america knows the right to bear arms is a given right that our great founders bled and fought for as true natives of our great land.

Voted pro gun and pro choice.  I'm far more pro gun; I don't really care about abortion either way (LOL now I feel like an asshole Sad)

I reckon that's the way I am too, minus the part about feeling like an asshole.  Assholes are mean, and generally into regulating the affairs of others.  I'm the opposite of that in the sense that I think your abortion and your guns are your business.

Anyway, I voted pro-abortion/pro-gun, mostly because there wasn't a don't give a shhit about abortion/don't give a shit about guns option.  Strictly speaking, that's a bit of an oversight, but it's not like I'm a horny female under 40 or a gun owner, so in the abstract sense neither affects me or my vote.

I'm pro-choice and pro-abortion. I think the stigmatization of it is horrible and very harmful, and I would never date a girl who wouldn't want an abortion if we accidentally got her pregnant.

I also think nearly all guns should be strictly outlawed.

Being pro-choice or even being strongly against the stigmatization of abortion (which I am both) isn't the same as automatically wanting an abortion in the case of an accidental pregnancy. I do see what you mean though. If I were a woman, I don't think I would bring a child into the world if both mother and father weren't on board with it.

I actually chose Option 4, even though I don't support banning either, because being "pro-gun" (on principle)  seems silly, and the phrase "pro-abortion" is really suspect.

I'm pro-choice, and I agree with Lief - I'm uncomfortable with the way the common view of abortion as a tragedy creates a harmful stigma.

I'm not American so I'm 'anti-gun', I guess. I don't think the average person should be allowed own metal death machines.

Pro-gun/Anti-abortion.  My stance on abortion has been moved several notches to the right since I took the political spectrum test after some fairly graphic photos of the procedure in an Internet ad..........those images scare the hell out of me.
