http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/2011/PPP_Release_FL_116.pdf

Charlie Crist has gained the approval of Democrats 73/17, compared to 44/33 a while back. He leads Rick Scott a huge 53-39, but Scott also loses to Sink 47-40, Iorio 43-39, and even freaking Wasserman-Schultz 44-42. Rich is only behind by 4, and nobody knows who she is.

Worse yet, he loses to ALLEN WEST in the Republican primary 38-37.

And this poll was probably taken before the Tampa Bay Times reported that Scott got rid of his dog after he won in 2010. That should hurt him.

I support Charlie Crist.

I hope he doesn't run again, and if he does, I hope he gets primaried.  But I wouldn't lose sleep over a Dem gain here.

Well Bondi still trails Scott, but that could change.

Scott's numbers were on the uptick for the last few polls, IIRC. 'Good to see him back in the low-30's.

Got 15 months to turn this around, else D+1. The idea of a Crist comeback makes me almost physically ill.

Same. He is a vile person who has a bad history with a branch of my family.

The dog sounded nuts, so I really don't blame him on this one.

I would be surprised if Crist made it out of the primary, and if he did, it would just show how desperate Florida Democrats must really be.

Given the choices of Charlie Crist, Buddy Dyer, Pam Iorio, Nan Rich, and Alex Sink, who would you most like to be the Democratic candidate for Governor next year?

Charlie Crist- 52%
Buddy Dyer- 4%
Pam Iorio- 13%
Nan Rich-  1%
Alex Sink 18%
Someone else/Not sure- 12%

Desperate? This Democrat is quite excited about Crist.

The most desperate person here looks like Rick Scott Tongue

If there was a Communist revolution, we'd suddenly find that Crist had always been a fellow traveler and was leading the charge to put the capitalists to the torch. Once election ads start flying Crist's past statements will come to bite him. Not to say, of course, that he wouldn't be favored to win.

I've got no particular sympathy for Crist, but I'd take anyone to get rid of Rick Scott.

Party-switchers tend to gravitate to the ideological extreme of their new party. If Crist follows suit, he's a welcome governor!

This former "Reagan conservative" wants to be the first elected democratic Florida governor since Lawton Chiles.

Fixed.

You can be desperate and excited. They're excited because they have a real chance at taking back the Governor's mansion in 2014...with a man who is a "Reagan Conservative" and complete opportunist who only switched parties (and likely ideologies as well) to further his political interests.

I honestly and truly believe that a road-kill 'possum running for Governor next year can win against Scott by an unprecedented landslide!

I'm sure Pam Bondi doesn't have the best name recognition, so she could possibly get that up and beat Scott (in spite of trailing now) and then take on Crist much more credibly. I'm sure there are others that aren't Florida perennial candidates (Bill McCollum, George LeMieux), but I don't know.

I want Adam Putnam to run, but I doubt he will.

What about Connie Mack IV, or Vern Buchanan? Awful candidates, yes, but could they beat Scott in the primary?
