I would say jazz.  Maybe indie rock... but I'd think indie rock fans tend to be somewhat apathetic toward politics.

Hip-hop due to the black factor, but if you're talking whites than indie rock.

Jazz would work too - it has black links and most people that listen to it seem to be pretty alternative in their outlook.

Being a classical musician and student composer, I can tell you that 95% of classical musicians and composers are Dems.  Oddly, the audience is around 50-50.  Don't know enough about the others to say.
