No, fortunately not, but I'm still waiting on the money that should be coming from Nigeria one of these days. But they made a good impression. I'm feeling confident they'll stick to their end of the bargain.

Not sure if this counts, but my uncles and I thought this was a real article and were baffled by it.

Let this be an example that not all romances end like Manti Te'o's.

I'm in class, but I sit in the back, so anything we do on facetime will go unnoticed anyway. Wink

I suppose my 37 yr old persona was a very mild hoax.  I've never been led too far astray on false flag/confidence trick.

I once invested a lot of time reading this online life blog of some guy from Oklahoma who had about 20 jobs in the span of 2 years, as well as 5 broken engagements.  I felt emotionally cheated when I realized how many holes there were in the narrative, and how it couldn't possibly be true.

One time I was friends with a 14-year-old girl who claimed she was Ian Fowles from The Aquabats.  I didn't know what The Aquabats was at the time, so I believed her.

It's a literary device. Go with it. Makes things way more interesting.
