That's a pretty odd description of Paramore.

Or of Rainer Maria, The Appleseed Cast, Superchunk, Mineral, mewithoutYou, The Hated, The Wonder Years, Small Towns Burn a Little Slower and The Jealous Sound, aka 9/10 of my most played bands on last.fm. Also I'll assume the "literally" should be removed as I've never seen anyone in a band shove a microphone or guitar up their ass and this is just a bad description of the music, but "kids punching each other in the face over it" sounds more like something you'd see at a show of all of the sixth wave metalcore bands you like instead of the shows I go to. Like show me the MMA imitation in the dancing here.

I don't see many high school girls at the shows I go to. This is not surprising as at most they can only attend with a fake ID or if they sneak in. Obviously I don't go to the same type of shows you do, or what I went to when I was your age.

That doesn't explain the ~75% estimate correlation, which is much higher than lots of other not similar sounding music. For example the percentage of emoviolence fans who are also death metal fans is probably in the low double digits at most.

So 8 years later I think I can confidently now say it's because almost all emoviolence fans also like pop-punk, because that's how they got into punk in the first place (and then hardcore and then emo and all that related stuff), and Paramore's early stuff was very good pop-punk.
