Don't be silly. Mulcair not really a leftist, sure, that you could definitely argue, but Layton was a lefty at heart who slowly learned the right way to charm the mainstream voter and bring them to him.

In 2006, I would have went with Paul Martin's Liberals. The NDP effectively put Harper into power by supporting the non-confidence motion. (I won't deny, however, that the Liberal Party has pretty much been a joke ever since that defeat.)
