Q26 (Asked of 537 Republican primary voters)
Given the choices of Jeb Bush, Chris Christie,
Mike Huckabee, Bobby Jindal, Sarah Palin,
Rand Paul, Rick Perry, Marco Rubio, and Paul
Ryan, who would you most like to see as the
GOP candidate for President in 2016?

Marco Rubio ................................................... 18%
Mike Huckabee ............................................... 14%
Rand Paul ....................................................... 12%
Chris Christie .................................................. 11%
Paul Ryan ....................................................... 10%
Jeb Bush......................................................... 9%
Sarah Palin ..................................................... 9%
Bobby Jindal ................................................... 6%
Rick Perry ....................................................... 1%
Someone else/Undecided............................... 10%

Palin remains extremely unpopular in her home state: 59% of voters disapprove of her to just 34% who approve.

PPP surveyed 1,129 Alaska voters and 537 usual Republican primary voters from
February 4th to 5th. The margin of error for the overall sample is +/-2.9% and +/-4.2% for
the GOP portion. This poll was not paid for or authorized by any campaign or political
organization. PPP surveys are conducted through automated telephone interviews.

Ugh, this is my one pet peeve with PPP's releases.  They often say "approval" when they mean "favorable".  They're pollsters.  They should know the difference!

In the primary, who leads among....

moderates: Christie
somewhat conservative: Rubio
very conservative: Rubio
men: Rubio
women: Huckabee
Republicans: Rubio
Independents: Paul/Rubio tie
whites: Rubio
other race: Rubio
age 18-45: Huckabee/Paul tie
age 46-65: Rubio
age 65+: Rubio

Probably a typo in their text.

They have it as favorable/unfavorable in their questions ...

The poll was flawed; Huckabee is not running and Rick Santorum is. So....

moderates: Christie
somewhat conservative: Rubio
very conservative: Santorum
men: Rubio
women: Christie
Republicans: Rubio
Independents: Christie
whites: Christie
other race: Rubio
age 18-45: Paul
age 46-65: Christie/Rubio
age 65+: Rubio
