Maybe writing a book? Going to Iowa three times a week?  Maybe wrestling bears?

Nope--Corporate raiding.  Trying to oust the CEO and board of one of the biggest employers in Montana, Stillwater Mining.

http://news.yahoo.com/regulators-notified-mont-miner-takeover-225007256.html

Challenging CEOs and BODs for incompetence or lack of oversight are all the rage these days.  These things tend to be very messy, much like political campaigns.

I have no idea about the merits of his arguments, though the mining and oil and gas industries have been rife with this kind of thing of late.  At the very least, it's more interesting than writing some boring book (cough, Jeb).

Interesting.  the former Montana Governor has my early support for the Democratic Nomination in 2016.  Though, I wonder what he's trying to accomplish by this take down?  How does he expect this will help him in 2016 with things like name recognition for starters (Not many Montanans are known nationally), and debating the important issues with the big whigs like Clinton or Cuomo should they run.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the last big Whig was Winfield Scott.

His facebook page says that he's trying to restore or defend 1,500 jobs in Montana, so I have no idea what his plans really are, since his statement is just politician-speak.

it's always funny when politicians say that.  they don't know if the jobs exist or not yet, but they know how many.

Don't you get it? Arbitrary numbers are key to political positioning.

Roll Eyes

Brian Schweitzer has no chance of being the Democratic nominee in 2016. Why? Two words: Air. Hub.

Schweitzer is awesome, he or Wyden are my 2016 picks to stop the corporate Dem express (Cuomo/Hillary/Biden/O'Malley)

Airports are extremely controversial in Montana.

You missed the day where someone explained the airhub theory, saying than odds of winning nomination was related to the presence of an airhub in the homestate.

I believe this was the original air hub thread:

https://uselectionatlas.org/FORUM/index.php?topic=104956.0

Though I also recall a later one in which pbrower talked about the importance of an air hub so that a campaign could ship sound equipment around the country for candidate appearances, and send advance people to do publicity for candidate appearances.

Well, Schweitzer and his cohorts are still plugging away

http://news.yahoo.com/mont-company-revokes-2-3m-164836550.html

Stillwater Mining Co. disclosed Wednesday that it was revoking company stock awarded to its chief executive worth $2.3 million at the current trading price, in the wake of a lawsuit that challenged the compensation as excessive.

The move came as the precious-metals mining company tries to fend off a corporate takeover attempt by a group including former Gov. Brian Schweitzer.

Still say it's more interesting than writing a book.
