Would it work?

If not, which creative genre would the Atlas be most suited to?

Would it be a comedy or a tragedy?

How about Sterne? The Life and Opinions of Young Tweed, Gentleman. (Simfan could also work.)

One of these days I need to stop pretending to have read Tristram Shandy at some point and become someone who actually has read it at some point.  It's just that the process of transitioning from pretending to have read the book to actually having read the book involves reading the book.

Much like the entire output of Durkheim, only around three people have ever actually read Tristram Shandy.

I'm not one of those people, but I intend to become one, and frankly will probably so intend for most of my natural life.

The previous sentence applies to both Tristram Shandy and (aught more than a smattering of) Durkheim, actually.

Must admit I have never tried reading it. But why is it hard to finish Tristram Shandy? I thought it was quite funny.
