Not bad for North Africa, Asia, and Europe.  (The growth and decline of Barbarossa's empire, in particular, is well done.  There are even arrows showing Crusade routes by Phillip, Richard, and Frederich.  Mongol expansion and contraction is interesting as well.)

In the Americas, however, it leaves a bit to be desired.  For example, peruse through about 1000 to 1300 and you see very little change in the mesoamerican spheres.  Just a little estimated red circle for Toltec and an amorphous blue blob labeled Chichen Itza.  Similarly, in the Andes Sican and Chimor just stay undifferentiated over the centuries.  They do present a believable growth pattern for the Tihuantinsuyu from about 1430 to about 1530.  Presumably the Spanish priests and scribes who showed up with Pizarro in Cusco got accurate information about that expansion from quipu handlers.

I tried to make some selected, regional maps like this for time periods I was especially interested in (using colors that I liked/made sense to me), and I have always found it interesting that very few maps agree on the borders of Alexander's empire.  Obviously, it happened so quickly and was so vast, but it's still interesting.
