Why do so many people in Britain hate hoodies so much?

Interestingly I just discovered this is the last.fm profile pic of this band I've been listening to a lot who are from Leicestershire:



So glad to see that this insanity is not universal.

I see a lot of people- from all different social classes- wearing hoodies, but I very rarely,unless its raining, see people actually having the hoods up.

That's the case in the US too, the hood usually isn't neccesary. It's just that it's there if you need it, making it more practical than a simple sweatshirt.
