Brothers in arms,

Too often we wonder about the fate of a captured or missing comrade.  This is especially true when that comrade was a good and wholesome defender of righteousness.  This is the case with our dear brother, the jmfcst.  For some time I wondered about him.  Did he stop posting here?  Was he bounced?  How?  Why?

If you, too, were wondering about the jmfcst--Does he fare well?  How are his family and friends treating him?--then wonder no longer.  Where is he?  I know not, but I do know that he lives.  He lives well and richly, enjoying the love of his friends and his family, always striving to follow the path of righteousness and to spread the Good News.

He bids you his greetings, and wishes you gladness and joy.  

He also sends this picture of his stalwart son and beautiful daughters, made on Easter Sunday on the verandah of his forest abode.

I am not sure if angus or jmfcst is the author of the above, or if it is a mix of the two. It's not angus's style really. And I didn't know you ran with jmfcst angus.  I need to get out more or something.

angus is angus; jmfcst is jmfcst.  One has vowels; the other does not.

I simply have knowledge that our brother, the jmfcst, is well.  I feel that it is my duty to pass on this knowledge, lest others suffer in needless worry.

I can't speak for others, but I don't seek to assist anyone in getting banned or getting around bans.  Ban, as a concept, is an anathema to me and it only enters my language when others bring it up.

Jmfcst's banning is an objective negative mark on our moderators' records.  Other bans upset fanboys and were controversial, but ultimately right IMO.  

Jmfcst is different.  He is the only member who was objectively banned for no good reason other than his political beliefs.  He was an abrasive poster, but we have plenty of abrasive posters.  His crime was being anti-gay.  There's no way you can dispute it, especially now that we have threads started by our mods (afleitch) going back into the archives ridiculing non-supporters of gay marriage.  At the very least, it put him under a microscope for scrutiny.

It was a petty political ban.

Really? I seem to recall him getting banned because he was intentionally acting in a fashion so as to earn himself enough death points to get banned.

Yes, the jmfcst went into some kind of crazy spam mode at the end that made no sense - speaking in tongues as it were. I was playing defense for him, fending off the all too impatient lions, the whole way until then, but suddenly he turned away from me and went off the metaphorical cliff in a most dramatic act of seppuku. Why? Because he wanted to be banned (only he was speaking in tongues, and he knew he could not go back to what he was before, and that it was time to rise up and take his leave from us - as he himself admitted). So it is written.

Yes, it was quite an epic saga, but it was directed from start to finish by him, and with himself cast in the leading role. The Mods were but mere cameramen, and some of the rest of us (I as one who had not been handed the keys to the cave door at that time) bit players (albeit some, such as the born again BRTD who through their now mutual love of Christ, allowed his formerly hostile heart to open up to the jmfcst - a sight to behold indeed), more important than others.
