Hmm, that's an interesting read.  It'd be intriguing to see what would happen if something along these lines was done in the US.

Harm reduction in particular - the UK has also seen a decline in drug use. Note that the selling of these substances is still illegal.

From the CATO report:

"Although postdecriminalization usage rates have remained roughly the same or even decreased slightly when compared with other EU states, drug-related pathologies — such as sexually transmitted diseases and deaths due to drug usage — have decreased dramatically."

I'm all in favour of treating drug addicts, but not decriminalisation or legislation - we should go after the suppliers of those vile substances.
