I don't see how Cheney will do better than McCain. At least McCain had """""maverick""""" cred, but Cheney is not only a) really disliked, he's b) fully enclothed in the stink of the Bush administration

Was Cheney's health even good enough for a Presidential Run? Also, wasn't Bush's relationship with Cheney strained at that point? Would he work from behind the scenes to sabotage the VP?

Anyway, here's how I think it would look if Cheney somehow got the nomination:

Obama/Biden: 386 EV
Cheney/Pawlenty: 152 EV

Arizona narrowly flips without McCain at the top of the ticket and Missouri narrowly flips as well, with Cheney having the full stink of the Bush Administration on him.

Bonus: Senate map.

In Mississippi, Cochran is safe and gets reelected but (least confident prediction imo) Musgrove barely defeats Wicker.

In Wyoming, both Enzi and Barrasso are safe.

Democrats gain 11 seats, giving them 62 straight up + defection of Specter brings them up to 63. I think this might allow them to pass Ocare with a public option.
