Al Gore did not invent the internet, but in the words of the immortal Dan Quayle:

A related note: I remember an episode of Fairly OddParents (pretty lame show, but I admit I used to watch it) where Cosmo and Wanda appear in 1970 as Bill Gates' fairy godparents (when Gates would've been 15), and he talks about inventing the internet in the future.  I honestly think it would've been funny if they portrayed Al Gore as a child and having Cosmo and Wanda as his godparents while he talks about inventing the internet in the future.  Of course, the producers of the show would NEVER do that (for obvious reasons.)

If only the Internet were Al Gore's VP, Bush would've got crushed. What did Bush invent?

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mental losses.
Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings take dream.
Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!
Major league.

Where did this meme come from? I'm pretty sure Gore never claimed to have invented the internet.

Timmy's parents did have a Clinton/Gore bumper sticker in one episode.

What is it about this forum that makes people associate politics with children's television?

Are you claiming that Al Gore is God?

I remember that.
