I don't know how many people will be watching the draft over the next three days, but I thought I would get it up, anyway.

Here is the schedule for 7 Round Draft:

Tonight - 20:00-23:00 ET - Round 1
Friday - 18:30-22:30 ET - Rounds 2 & 3
Saturday - 12:00-19:00 ET - Rounds 4-7

I'll be watching tonight and Saturday. I'm gonna be at the Celtics game tomorrow, so I'll probably just follow along on Twitter or something.

I'm disappointed that Johnthan Banks spent all of last season as a sure first rounder, won the Thorpe Award, and now all of a sudden, he'll be lucky to even go in the 2nd round...

Cool. Im flying up to Boston after work tomorrow. Can't make Game 3 in time, although several of my friends will be there, but I will be there on Sunday when the Knicks clinch.

Back to the draft:
1. I actively hate having the draft on a weeknight. I really liked it the old way.
2. I'm a Jets fan, oh how the mighty, couple playoff wins, have fallen. As a Jets fan I am always prepared to be disappointed on draft day.

All I read about the Cowboys is that they are looking at a DT or OG.   Not exciting enough for me to watch.

The Cowboys desperately need a line in front of Romo.  Defense line needs work, too.  Good move by JJ.

The sad part is Suzy Kolber on ESPN said he is going back home, so when he gets drafted, he'll learn from his house or on the plane.

Good tweet of encouragement though from Aaron Rodgers.

I was worried that Jerry Jones had done his usual sabotaging of the Cowboys' draft plans by trading the 18th pick to San Francisco and initially, I thought he had traded completely out of the first round, but then I saw they were picking in San Fran's place at 31 and had picked up a third rounder.  Jerry desperately needed to redo that offensive line.  The worst needs were Center, and Guard and I was waiting for pick 31 with cautious optimism, knowing full well, it wouldn't be out of Jerry Jones's character to trade out of it again.  I was pleased to see they picked at 31 and pleased even more that they picked a Center.

Oh, and Geno Smith will be staying in New York today.

I could see the Raiders drafting Geno Smith at 42.

They made a big reach and wasted a draft pick. He would have been around later. Jerry Jones is a horrible drafter, Romo will get slaughtered again this year.

As for the Pack they made a great choice like usual.

Trading down wasn't bad for Dallas (they were able to get decent value in a seller's market, which is tough), but then they blew it by using their first-round pick on a third-round talent.

I've been very, very impressed with Chip's first draft until today when they blew my mind with the fantastic Barkley pick. I'm excited about the intelligence and physicality that's been heavily emphasized so far.

At #98 in the draft, Barkley's a good enough pick. I was rather impressed this year that, for once, there was no ridiculous reach for a marginal QB prospect by #10. Just the Bills at #16, but they're not a serious franchise anyway.

Yea but "blow my mind" good enough? I don't see it.

At worst, he's Matt Leinart. At best?...Mark Sanchez.

I don't think there's a hex on USC QBs that prevents them from succeeding. The Eagles know how to develop QBs and there's a ton of upside with Barkley...with no risk at all. That's pretty great if you ask me, especially for a new system looking for a direction to head in.

The QB draft class this year is so shoddy that standards get lowered. Like Chiefs fans who were angry about the Alex Smith trade because they wanted Geno Smith. Well, he's probably not the answer either. Nor is anyone else that they could have realistically gotten this year.

Maybe not. Those are two QBs whose game I see in Barkley. It just so happens they all went to USC.

Well it was Reid that was great at developing QBs. I'm not sure how Chip will do in that department given there's nothing to compare there and Pat Shurmur is pretty awful, besides that one season with Bradford (which may have been more Bradford than Shurmur).

For the record, I like Chip Kelly and what the Eagles are doing. I just don't see a lot of reason to be excited for Barkley.

Why am I mot surprised that Bushie started this thread?  The NFL Draft does seem to be the sort of meaningless media event that would attract his attention.

This is the first year I've been able to watch it almost in its entirety.
