Was there a swing to the Right in Neuchâtel (ignoring the FDP>SVP movement), or was it just the introduction of the (horrendous) Green Liberals losing the Left coalition seats?

On the other hand, influential regional movements such as the "Ensemble à Gauche" (far-left)

I note they have no f**king seats though. 7% threshold ffs.

http://www.ge.ch/elections/20131006/GC/canton/

Why does the site list the Left Assembly(?) losing 3.7% when they didn't even reach the 7% threshold and were seatless at the last election?

Well the representation losses can be explained by the entry of EàG, but given their vote fell it was an all-round disaster for the left - upwards of -10% between the two parties (and made all the more frustrating by the emergence - but just enough to take votes - of sh**t like Pirates and Green f**king Liberals).

The Swiss left has historically achieved 30%, give or take 2pp, so once you add in AL this would probably go down as the left's worst post-war result, beating 1967 & 1991. Although when you're talking by 1% in a country dominated by the right, it's hard to care.

Good news from Switzerland, in...7 years of 'observing' (ie wandering in this thread, or its predecessors, and wondering why I bothered).  Wink
