The saddest thing about it is that you can find any kind of porn you want for free.

Yeah, that's the true tragedy in this tale.

What exactly does being another male voice for the orphans entail?  What exactly is it that you'll be doing?

And are you still using money from your mother for your porn subscriptions?

Male voice may not be the proper term, but another male in the administration of the Orphanage from child sponsorship to building projects on the grounds to travel arrangements for teams from the United States, etc.

And do you have any experience doing any type of administrative work, building anything, or making international travel arrangements?

I do have experience doing administrative work.  I'm going to school for the building plans.  No experience in the international travel arrangements.

What administrative work?  And going to school to make building plans is a lot different than actually doing the building on the ground.

I'm an administrator at the church - church clerk for instance.  I've also got experience overseeing the administration of a summer camp for two straight summers, as well as actually doing the work that I was administering.

I'm going in for architecture - building plans, blueprints, etc.  I'm not going in for construction.  You kidding?  These Kenya workers, whom I had the privilege to work alongside last year building the medical clinic, put even the most experienced American foreman to shame.  They laughed when we Americans had to take a break every hour in 90 degree equatorial heat.  You know what?  They are pretty darn efficient at that, too.  My job would be to design the building plans and then hiring the contractors to actually build the structures.  I am not cut out for construction.  I tried road construction in March 2005 and I couldn't even make it 3 days...

Did no one noticed the hilarity in this post? No offense, pal, but I am sure they were laughing at you and others who were probably overweight trying to build houses in Kenya. Tongue

I can assure you other areas of the country have very skilled carpenters and foreman in this country.

To be fair, all the Kenyan construction workers were laughing at all us Snow White Americans!  We had to take a break every half hour in the 92 degree heat and bright equatorial sun.  They got there at daybreak (7:00) and left at dusk (6:30).  We were pooped after 3 hours...  Most of the team works in the labor field, and they were still put to shame!

Yes, yes, but even then, America's best talent is not going to be in Kenya working for missionaries. Tongue

Nix, I do have a four-year bachelor's degree from a regional university called Northwestern Oklahoma State University.  I didn't pick the right degree, I picked for of a fad degree - "E-Commerce", but I still have something no one can ever take away from me.  I had thoughts of getting my master's while I was working at Dell and had even signed up and paid to take my GMAT entrance exam to an MBA program at the University of Central Oklahoma.  For whatever reason, I chickened out and ended up not taking the test (I did get my money back).  Now, I think going back and basically starting over is better than getting a higher degree.  I still think I can use my degree, especially my Computer Science Minor, but I just haven't found anything to use it at.

Jeff you aren't really applying your major to its fullest potential.

Interesting, I never knew these were ecommerce jobs.  NWOSU doesn't have a good career services program, so I was never told about these.  Thanks!

Well, you did get your old ONG job with that degree, which would have been a stable job for you long term. Your fixation with call centers was quite a bizarre one, but then again...

It didn't require a degree, I got it off referral.  It would have been a good job, but the gal who referred me keeps telling me to be glad I'm not still working there. They would have drained my paycheck because I'm fat.  I'm not exaggerating, either.

Easy solution to that: don't be fat.

Still, draining paychecks for weight or other health issues like smoking is completely unethical and should be illegal if not already.  Their new policy requires employees to disclose personal medical information or face a $500 per month loss.  Doesn't that violate HIPPA?

I am no lawyer and haven't the foggiest but I don't see anything particularly unethical about charging more for bad behavior.  Why should people who take care of themselves pay extra for the DIABEETUS medication of someone who caused themselves to get that way?  If you  weren't an Injun we would all be paying for your medications because you choose not to walk when there is a light drizzle.

I'm no legal expert, either, but I think that's what I learned when I was hired different places.  Could someone help me research www.hhs.gov, please?  I've only got my iPhone with me tonight.  Thanks!

Anyway, as of 6:45 am Thursday, May 9, 2013, I will be exactly 6 weeks from arriving at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City preparing to check in and go through security on my way to Kenya.  My flight leaves at 10:40 am, so I would have to be there by 7:40, but Dad is taking me to the Airport on his way to work, and he has to be there by 7:00, so he'll drop me off between 6:30-6:45.

Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City

1. Will Rogers died in a plane crash.
2. This airport is the only one to have 'World' in its name rather than the more customary 'International'.
3. You cannot fly to any international destinations from this World Airport.

I've got one more day of company today and then I'll be able to relax this weekend.  Monday, I will be meeting with the Maisha Director at 11:00.  Wednesday, I will be using my $50 gift card to Old Navy to get new clothes for Africa.  Monday, 20 May, I should be closing on the house.  Tuesday, 21 May 2013, I am going to get started planing what I'm going to pack.  On Sunday, 19 May 2013, the team will meet to pack the supplies and get them sent ahead of us.  On Sunday, 9 June 2013 we will have our final meeting as a team.

I couldn't help but laugh at the adorable quaintness of naming your state's busiest airport after Will Rogers, but upon reading a bit it seems he really was a legitimate early aviation enthusiast.

Hang in there Bushie!  I just read through this and I'd like to interject: Don't listen to these naysayers, you have my complete sympathy (for everything except the religion and the getting-up-early/having-dinner-too-early perversion).

I think most males watch porn, especially if they are not in a relationship (my ex-girlfriend forbid me from watching it because "she should satisfy me enough")

Did she? Wink

Mr. Morden,

The 'brief relaxation' was a nap, not porn.  And, yes, all but one subscription is cancelled.  I haven't been home to take care of the last one.
