George Leader (D - PA) served as Governor from 1955-1959. As of 2005, he was the earliest serving U.S. Governor that was still living. He died today at the age of 95.

Who holds the record now?

Wiki says Mike Stepovich, Governor of Alaska 1957-58.  Raul Castro of Arizona is the oldest living former Governor, however, at 97.

That's two former governors we've lost in a week.  First Otis Bowen, and now George Leader.

Who holds the record now?

Wiki says Mike Stepovich, Governor of Alaska 1957-58.
But he was only a territorial governor, right?
