What this will be: A fun side project, a way to procrastinate, as realistic and fun as possible, yet another timeline.
What this will not be: Well-researched, very realistic.
All events depicted may be more or less distant from the actual proceedings.

Bill Bolling endorses Chopra
September 15, 2013

RICHMOND - In an interview with Chris Matthews on his MSNBC Hardball show, the incumbent Lt. Governor of Virginia Bill Bolling (R) slammed his potential successor, Republican nominee and minister E. W. Jackson. Jackson has gained attention for several inflammatory remarks on different social issues, which has put the Republican ticked led by Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli on the defense.

Bolling, who flirted with an independent run after dropping out of the race for the GOP nomination, said that "...[Jackson] is a divisive, a really divisive character, which is not what the Commonwealth needs, and I think many Virginians agree" and revealed that he would vote for the Democratic candidate, Aneesh Chopra. "I'd prefer a Republican to Chopra, we disagree on many issues, but I prefer someone who is fit for the job as well, and frankly, I've come to the conclusion that Jackson probably isn't" Bolling remarked, sparking outrage from supporters of Jackson. Both Jackson and Cuccinelli have declined to comment. The endorsement is unlikely to affect the race for Lt. Governor, with a Quinnipac poll released yesterday showing Chopra leading Jackson by 17 points while McAuliffe leads Cuccinelli by only a single point.

September 24, 2013

BOSTON - State Rep. Daniel Winslow, who unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for the June special Senate election but lost to former Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez who went on to lose to Senator Ed Markey, today announced that he would challenge Rep. Joe Kennedy III in the 4th Congressional District next November. Winslow touted his independent record in the press release, which he will likely continue to do in the deep-blue 4th District.

Missouri's 8th Congressional District special election, June 4th, 2013

Jason Smith (R): 57.2%
Steve Hodges (D): 40.9%
Bill Slantz (L): 1.2%
Doug Enyart (C): 0.6%

Quinn to win the Democratic runoff
September 24, 2013

NEW YORK - City Council Speaker Christine Quinn today defeated former Congressman Anthony Weiner in the Democratic primary runoff with 54% to Weiner's 46%. The runoff was a low-turnout story, with many supporters of other Democratic candidates staying home, which may have contributed to the margin of victory being closer than expected. Quinn will face Republican former MTA Chairman Joe Lhota in the election on November 5.

Buono's momentum disappearing
September 26, 2013

TRENTON - In the latest poll on the New Jersey gubernatorial race by PPP, the race seems to remain unchanged from last month. Incumbent Governor Chris Christie leads the Democratic Senate Majority Leader Barbara Buono by 22 points, which is unchanged from the August poll and the first PPP poll since July where Buono has not improved the margin, following an ad campaign during the early summer. While the state of New Jersey leans Democratic, Christie is personally popular with a 56/25 favorable rating and not enough chickens may come home to roost before the November election.

Rep. Bill Young to retire in 2014
October 10, 2013

ST. PETERSBURG - Long-time Tampa Bay Congressman Bill Young (R) announced today that he would not run for re-election in 2014, citing his age and desire to spend time with his family. The 13th District, that went for President Obama in both 2008 and 2012, is a pick-up opportunity for the Democrats, of which 2012 candidate Jessica Ehrlich has announced. Young joins Republicans Michele Bachmann (MN-6), Sam Johnson (TX-3), Howard "Buck" McKeon (CA-25) as well as Democrats Jim McDermott (WA-7) and Nita Lowey (NY-17) in the retirement list of 2014, excepting retirements to seek a higher office.

State Sen. Hightower wins AL-1 primary
October 22, 2013

MOBILE - State Senator Bill Hightower eked out a narrow win over his five rivals in the crowded primary to replace retired Congressman Jo Bonner in Alabama's 1st District, covering the state's coastal areas. Hightower beat nearest competitors State Sen. Trip Pittman and State Rep. Randy Davis with 23 percent of the vote in the district where winning the Republican primary is tantamount to election. Hightower will face Democrat State Sen. Marc Keahey in the December election.

who are running 2012 candidate Jessica Ehrlich.

Why would the Dems run Ehrlich for this instead of Welch, Justice, or Kriseman?

She has apparantly announced that she is running again. Changing the wording to add an opening for another candidate.
