Do you consider Mitch Daniels as a good running mate? Could he help/hurt let's say Chris Christie in a potential match-up against Hillary Clinton?

Mitch could help anybody, as long as he is seen as the IN governor and not a member of the Bush administration.

I guess the cat is out of the bag on his role in the Bush administration.  Nonetheless, on balance, I still think Mitch is a good candidate, and particularly in a VP slot.  I think Portman would be good in a VP slot too.  The Pubs might want to go with someone for the top of the ticket next time who 1.) has appeal across a broader spectrum of demographics and 2.) is more effectively edgy.  When Mitt and McCain tried to be edgy, all it amounted to was gaffes all over the place.  Someone like Daniels or Portman could be solid backup for whomever fits the bill for the top slot.

No, he'd be bad.

And because of his wife, he has no chance anyways. She refused to support his presidential run, that's the only reason he didn't run.

Daniels has a very messy personal life: his wife ran off with another man, abandoning him and their two daughters, and then returned after he struck it rich as an executive for Eli Lilly. And he took her back.

He would be excellent, but most likely he wouldn't go for it.

Great governor, 2012 was his shot though.
