Mitch could help anybody, as long as he is seen as the IN governor and not a member of the Bush administration.
I guess the cat is out of the bag on his role in the Bush administration. Nonetheless, on balance, I still think Mitch is a good candidate, and particularly in a VP slot. I think Portman would be good in a VP slot too. The Pubs might want to go with someone for the top of the ticket next time who 1.) has appeal across a broader spectrum of demographics and 2.) is more
effectively edgy. When Mitt and McCain tried to be edgy, all it amounted to was gaffes all over the place. Someone like Daniels or Portman could be solid backup for whomever fits the bill for the top slot.
