While the intent of this bill is good, I see it as problematic.  I don't see why the whole statute or article should be included.  Only the related text should be, and that's already done (for the most part, but I wouldn't mind making that official).

Under this bill as it stands, the voting booth for the Assembly Expansion Amendment would have had to have included all of this:

Doing stuff like that encourages voters to say "TL;DR" and casting an uninformed vote (or not voting at all) instead of actually reading it.

Seeing no further debate, this is brought to a final vote.  Members will vote AYE, NAY, or ABSTAIN.  This will be a 48-hour vote.

Eh? How many people do you suppose are reading the old law under the current system but wouldn't under this system? Huh

If this passes the most important thing will be that the relevant clause/section is always bolded. If the entire bill were presented to the voter as in Inks' example, the TL;DR problem would indeed apply. However, I intend to put all relevant clauses/sections (i.e. the ones that are subject to a vote) in bold print so I am confident that this act will serve its purpose.

Voting is now closed.  The AYEs are 3, and the NAYs are 1, with 1 not voting.  The AYEs have it, and the bill has passed.  The bill is now passed onto the Governor for his signature or veto.
