Just when I thought MSNBC couldn't get more insane, they do by intentionally putting an "R" next to George Wallace's name in a video.  Never mind that George Wallace was a Democrat and never joined the GOP.  MSNBC is simply trying to rewrite history to make it look like racist Democrats like George Wallace were Republicans.

It's easy to see why they'd make that mistake though...

George Wallace's son - who has the same name - is mostly certainly a Republican these days.

Evidence, please?  And considering that Wallace had a change of heart on race after his assassination attempt, that doesn't really mean much.

It is not easy to make that mistake at all- anyone with an inch of common sense would realise that a Segregationist Governor in the Deep South during the 1960s most likely equals a Democrat. Failure to recognise this demonstrates a severe lack of historical enquiry.

Well they're journalists. Lack of historical knowledge is practically a requirement for the job.

Don't be hard on them, I am sure most of them haven't touched any history related books since they coasted through their college required freshman US History class.

Sorry, but until Chris Hayes commits ritual seppuku on live television, oldiesfreak will NOT be accepting any apologies.

Yes because when discussing George Wallace, people often think of his little known son.

FOX has been adding Ds to the end of embattled Republicans names for awhile now. People are lazy, left and right wing media exploits that to varying degrees on a daily basis. Nothing to see here

Note... that Hayes issued a correction, plus according to Oldie's polluted logic, since he changed his position on race, he's a Republican in spirit.

George Wallace's son - who has the same name - is mostly certainly a Republican these days.
Evidence, please?  And considering that Wallace had a change of heart on race after his assassination attempt, that doesn't really mean much.

After joining the GOP in 1998, Wallace Jr. gave speeches to the white supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens in 1998, 1999 and 2005, and has been a guest a few times on a white supremacist talk radio show.

He basically made the logical step that the less stubborn Southern racists (e.g. his father) didn't do, and finally join the welcoming home in the modern Republican Party.
