Perhaps we should hold off on this until after the budget?

It sounds like a great idea, but I'm not sure about spending that much of the projected surplus on this.

We already killed the surplus.

I suggest repealing the High Speed Rail Act in order to fund this.

Why don't we wait until after the budget is proposed fully and see what we can do to fit this in?

So... is there an objection to holding off on this?  Especially now that the bill's sponsor has decided to jump regions immediately after being elected... (yes, there was a reason I didn't even preference the guy...)

Inks, is your idea we should do any spending bills until the budget gets passed?  I feel like that could take until near the end of the session.

I'd prefer that, but I'm only one Assemblyman.

I don't think we should necessarily wait until the budget is passed, but it does make sense to wait and see what the transportation bill the Senate is working on ends up looking like and whether it passes.

Agreed.  Given the amount of money that has been proposed for allocation, the pending passage of the amendment currently being voted upon, as well as the bill itself, could have a sizable impact here.

I concur.  We should wait on this until after the budget is passed.
