Here's an interesting excercise in getting to know where we all stand politically.

If you had the ability to choose a President in 2004 and you could select any current living (no FDR) capable (no Reagan, Alzheimer's and all) politicians to be President and VP, who would you choose?  Don't worry about electability, you're the only one voting.  Yes, you can cut across party lines.

obviously Bush Cheney comes to mind right away as I like what they are doing and hope like H*ll they get reelected.

Well I would put Pres Bush 41 on the ticket as VP as he has excellent foriegn affairts credentials, winning Gulf War, Pres with Berlin wall falling, Director of CIA and still eligible for a term.

Think the question knocks clinton out, term limited, so would Reagan.  Carter and Ford could be eligible, but who knows why anyone would pick them.  Foriegn affairs piece from TX

Top job though.  Well I always liked John Kasich, he is the one that wrote the budget that balanced the budget.  So hey why not, kinda fun.  Domestic piece from OHIO

KAsich- Bush 2004

this is tough...

Republicans I like are Rudy Giuliani, John McCain, and Chuck Hagel.  A McCain/ Rudy ticket would win in a landslide.

I like Al Gore now since he got liquored up a little....Gore/Dean would be cool.

Bill Gates for President [Corporate know-how and would follow the new re-inventing government doctrine.] Then, say, Wesley Clark for his running mate, someone who can monitor international crises hot spots that may threaten our Na. Sec. and Na. Interests. GATES/CLARK

My dream ticket?  That's easy.  It would be Howard Dean - Dennis Kucinich   ----  for obvious reasons.  It would be a Republican's dream.  However, I'll gladly take the half a loaf we're being offered, Dean and anybody.  Haha.

Well I'm glad you've converted and now support Dean.
I'm assuming this isn't the case though, and you just misunderstood the premise of this thread.

I understood the premise.  I was just making a stab (perhaps a weak one) at humor.

I found it funny Smiley

I don't know though... Kucinich might be a better choice for Dean's "Secretary of Peace".  He'll proably get rid of all the cabinet departments and replace them with new ones:

Department of following the leadership of the State of France
Department of World Peace
Department of Labor Unions
Department of Social Justice
Department of "Fair Trade" and Opposition to Free Commerce
Department of Farm Subsidies
Department of Interior Decorating
Department of Ending any local control of Education
Department of Geothermal and Wind Energy
Department of Mind Transportation
Department of Terrorists' Rights
Department of Raping the Treasury
Department of Former War Protestors Affairs
Department of Urban voter bloc development

Department of Farm Subsidies
Department of Raping the Treasury

1) Isn't farm subsidies an agenda item usually pushed by Republicans?  I refer you to the following item ... http://www.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/05/13/farm.bill I think a Dept of Farm Subsidies more likely under Bush than Dean.

2) Department of Raping the Treasury?  Harsh words.  Wasn't it Reagan who really pressed defecit spending?  Isn't it a Republican President and Republican Congress who are pushing the largest budget defecit in history?

Come on guys ... you didn't think I was going to let this one slide, did you?

How about a Department of Divorce and bad Toupes? It almost looks worse than Jim Traficant's.

Here's my dream ticket for both major parties:

Republican Ticket:

Rudy Giuliani
VP: David Boren

Democratic Ticket:

Joe Biden
VP: Dianne Feinstein

Giuliani would win by a landslide, but I think that both Rudy and Biden would be efficient, effective, productive Presidents.  Giuliani's lack of experience with Congress would be tempered by the grand master Boren.  Biden & Feinstein would make a great team in producing solid policy decisions and sticking to them - without Feinstein taking the main spotlight.

I also agree, Kucinich would have to make a Department of Bad Toupees.  Heck, Traficant could run it from jail.  Wink

Nice, but no geographic diversity. For the dems, I would say Bayh-Miller.

For the GOP, Giuliani-Schwarzenegger (if amendment passed) or else Rudi-JC.
