This was never done, was it?

Anyway, my answer should be obvious.

Christ/Thatcher. Jesus would tell the electorate too many things they absolutely did not want to hear.

Voted Christ/Christ, but on second thought, this.

I think Jesus would easily win as long as He went by the name; if He ran with a different one, it would be a landslide defeat.

Thatcher/Thatcher. Jesus is an ungroomed, long-haired, unelectable hobo.

And if anything the Christian right tells is correct, Thatcher is probably comparatively moderate.

Why in the world would you assume that?

the Christian right doesn't talk about Jesus much at all, certainly not in a political context.  the Bible, yes they do, Christ, not so much.

Do not judge Jesus by those who claim to be following him.  Too many of them are wandering around in circles following each other rather than him.

Whose version of Jesus are we talking about here?  Different Christian sects seem to give off a different vibe of what Jesus is supposed to be like.

If it's just the mainstream version, the hippie who championed the poor, I'll go with him.  The whole, "worship me or burn" thing is a bit much... but Thatcher is a dirty, capitalistic elitist.

Jesus would likely lose a lot of Democratic votes because of his dad's gay-bashing past and his subsequent refusal to distance himself from his father, and his radical pro-life activism. The Christian Right would assume he was a Muslim based on his skin colour. He would also get slaughtered in ads for attacking small businesses simply trying to make a living in a temple. Why does Jesus hate America's mom and pop stores?

Thatcher landslide.

I don't. I'm mostly joking in saying that. I'm not even entirely convinced of the historicity of Jesus, but that's another discussion, for another day.

I've honestly never understood why one would consider that the sort of question that it's interesting or fruitful to ask about Jesus in the first place, but, yeah, another time.

In 2009, 52% of voters in the town where Jesus was born voted for the communists.

If he actually claims to be the Christ, then I cannot vote for him with good conscience.

Wouldn't polling Galilee or Nazareth, whathaveyou, be a better example?
