This is a two part question for supporters of all parties.

  • Who do you want to see your party nominate for president in 2016?
  • Who do you think your party will nominate for president in 2016?

I'm going to give my answer (with explanation) after a few people have posted on here.

I think Rubio will be nominated from my party in 2016 and I'm ok with it. At the federal level, I prefer more Ron Paul type guys though. I'm not too picky on who my party nominates either. As moderate as Romney and McCain are, I was a strong supporter of them in 2012 and 2008 respectively. Chris Christie is who I think our party's strongest leader is and at this moment gets my vote in the primaries.

my vote- Christie
my party- Rubio

I'd like either Christie or Paul for different reasons. I can see Christie more easily taking the nomination than Paul. Part of Paul's base will reside with evangelicals which should have tons of candidates to choose from. That leaves him with the youth and more libertarian voters, but we see where that got his dad. Christie could rely on a treasure chest of delegates from large Northern states meanwhile. However, Rand's profile has been rising of late, so let's see if he can keep it going til 2016.

Was Paul, now I think Christie can pull it off.

Susana Martinez
Chris Christie

Martinez probably won't run though, and I'm honestly more than happy with Christie. Plus, I think a Christie-Martinez ticket is a distinct possibility... so who can complain? They'd complement each other very well.

Chris Chrsitie and Chris Christie.

I think that the precedent has been set for Christie to be in the nominee in 2016.  Despite being the "radical" party, the GOP has a history of nominating relatively safe and moderate candidates - the last "radical" GOP nominee I can think of would be Goldwater in 1964.

The Tea Party/Paultards were unable to unite to nominate  a candidate in 2012, so I doubt that they will be able to do so in 2016 with their numbers and influence dwindling by the day.

Chris Christie all the way around.

A Christie-Martinez ticket would be excellent!

Want: Rand Paul
Think: Christie

Given the recent NSA spying scandals I'd prefer a GOP candidate that actually cares about individual privacy. I think Christie could turn around the economy but I know that Rand Paul has the guts to do it, and actually balance a budget.
