Let's be honest - people don't need marriage to breed.

Marriage has evolved constantly depending on the society they're within. Just as straight people don't have to marry, despite their having the right to, gay people will have the right to decide not to marry.

I'm being honest when I say, I understand those who oppose gay marriage, I just don't agree with any of the reasons outlined.

Pretty similar to my views.

This is refreshing to read.

I do appreciate the views of those who disagree with me on the issue of gay marriage, but I cannot stand being called a bigot or otherwise intolerant because of my beliefs.  To reduce the argument to terms as simple as that is not going to produce winners on either side, but it will instead produce a certain political toxicity that will continue to surround the issue well after it is resolved.

The "bigot" tagline will never catch on when describing the traditional marriage crowd because there is a strong religious element that can be tied to their belief, not the same could be said of the pro-segregation folks in the 1950s and 1960s.
