I'm going to have a go-even if I am an Aussie Smiley

1980

Carter couldn't swim, so he stepped aside and Mondale took his place. The republicans, seizing their opportunity, nominated a moderate-George Bush (Sn.), a Texan, to take on the leftist "loony" Mondale. They also chose former VP Agnew, to add a touch of memory of the pre-Carter days. The election was dirty, and Mondale was portrayed as evil. This made both parties bases get out to vote-the GOP's to get rid of him, the DEMs to clear his name-and not many swinging voters, creating the lowest turnout in over 100 years. Despite polls showing Bush streets ahead, the election was close:

Bush/Agnew: 280
Mondale/Smith: 258

1984

Bush is extremely popular. Democrats hopeless; run Mondale again, this time with Gephardt.

Bush/Agnew: 346
Mondale/Gephardt: 202

1988

Agnew decides not to run; the country lets out a collective sigh of relief. The Democrats nominate Tennessee senator al Gore, running with Massachusettian Dukakis. The GOP nominate prominant Republican Kemp, to run with former President Bush's son, Jeb. The election was close, but not all that dirty, and the electorate decided it was time for a change-the Bush name was too prominent.

Gore/Dukakis: 276
Kemp/Bush: 262

1992

After a sucessful Gulf War, and the fall of the USSR, Gore is fairly popular. His VP however isn't, after sex allegations, and he steps away from the office. Gore selects Arkansas governor Bill Clinton to be is running mate. The GOP select Arizonan senator John McCain and Iowan Senator Chuck Grassley. The election, despite the cntroversy, it a strong win to the Democrats.

Gore/Clinton: 312
McCain/Grassley: 226

1996

The Democrats have an uneventful term. Not much happens-economy stable, security concerns zip, no wars. They do introduce some policies, but once the GOp won the house, that stopped, basically. The electorate was given a choice-steady leadership under the now-Presidential candidate, former VP Clinton, running with Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman, or the GOP pairing of prominant rightwinger Charlton Heston, and former VP contender Grasey. The election was a massacre:

Clinton/Lieberman: 456
Heston/Grassley: 82

2000

Despite having to go to war in the former yugoslavia and again in Iraq, the governance of the Democrats is still seen as 'peacefu'. The economy is good, the Democrats have regained the house, and things are normal-despite the fact that the Democrats have now been in for three terms in a row. The GOP decides to end this, and brings in the big guns-Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri and John warner of VA.

Clinton/Lieberman: 273
Bond/Warner: 265

They fail, but only just. The tide IS turning...

2004

............

(I'm australian, so if that doesnt make sense, I have an excuse Wink)

2008

The economy was excellent, and their was still a massive surplus.  Gore again cut taxes for the middle class, and raised the income tax for the wealthy very little.

The Republican Party was going on hard times now, with a socialist party having almost as many electoral votes as they did.  John Ashcroft drove another nail in the coffin of the Republican Party in 2006.  In 2002, Ashcroft was elected governor of California, and was considered a possible vice-presidential candidate for 2004, but wasn’t picked.  He was publicly acceptant of this in public, but privately, hated McCain for it.  So, in the midterm elections, he split the Republican Party in half.  The religious right and reactionary parts of the party split, and formed the Constitutional Reform Party.

The Socialist Union Party, a rough coalition of the Socialist and American Union Party split, with Jesse Ventura taking the Unionist Party away, along with Minnesota and Vermont.

The Republicans, weakened by Ashcroft and the Reformists, turned to Rudolph Giuliani for help.  Giuliani won every single primary in 2008, and by the time the convention rolled around, he looked to be the choice.  He was, and he picked Collin Powell as his vice-president.

The Democrats picked Vice-president John Kerry as their candidate, and Kerry picked South Carolinian Senator John Edwards as his vice-president.  And Gore approved of this.

On election night, Kerry pulled a head early, winning all the states that Gore won, plus Ohio, winning easily.  The Socialists won Indiana and Iowa, and the Unionists won Vermont and Minnesota.  And Ashcroft won Mississippi.

FINAL VOTES
John Kerry/John Edwards 312
Rudolph Giuliani/Collin Powell 141
Eugene Wilson/ David McReynolds 19
Jesse Ventura/Eric Redding 14
John Ashcroft/Patrick Buchanan 7

2012

On January 22nd, 2009, the American Intelligence Bureau (in 2003, President Gore disbanded the CIA, and placed all intelligence gathering to the new AIB) discovered that North Korea had given the al Qaeda to use in the 9/11 attacks.  Kerry, in response, begins shifting to forces to the Korean Peninsula, along with UN support.

On March 2nd, 2009, a North Korean Naval attack boat attacked the USS Churchill, disabling it, giving President Kerry the chance to strike.  The next day, the Second Korean War began as 1.6 million American, British, French, German, Spanish, and other Allied soldiers poured into North Korea, with another 2.1 million behind it.  Kim Jong IL ordered biological attacks against Allied soldier.  On April 4th, 2009, anthrax and saran was released by North Korean forces, pushing the Allied back.

On March 5th, 2009, the American struck back, nuking Pyongyang, Nampo, and North Korean reserve forces, numbering 1.1 million soldiers.  Kim Jong Il, unfortunately, was in China trying to get the Chinese to get involved, but the Chinese president Li Ru Ping didn’t want to.

Hearing of this, Il ordered nuclear retaliatory strikes against the Allies.  But before he could do this, his top aide, Yong Jung Shin, assassinated him.  On May 10th, 2009, the Second Korean War came to an end as Shin brokered a peace agreement between America and North Korea.

After this, President Kerry’s approval ratings soared.  The Mint redesigned the dime, ten, twenty, and fifty dollar bills, by placing Reagan on the dime, John F. Kennedy on the ten, Theodore Roosevelt on the twenty, and Franklin D. Roosevelt on the fifty.

The Republicans, again, nominated Rudolph Giuliani as their presidential candidate, with Condoleezza Rice as his vice-president.  Come November, Kerry did the same as he did back in 2008, but with Iowa going Democratic and Alabama going to Ashcroft, and Ohio going to the Socialists.

FINAL VOTES
John Kerry/John Edwards 310
Rudolph Giuliani/Condoleezza Rice 120
Eugene Wilson/Warren Short 31
John Ashcroft/Daniel Benson 16
Jesse Ventura/Howard Dean 14

April 21, 1836

The Texan army is trounced at the battle of San Jacinto.  General Houston is killed in the fighting.  The rebellion in Texas is over, with the Mexican empire unharmed

1841

Feeling pressured by Mexico, the U.S.  enters into an alliance with Spain, who is angry at the loss of their former colony, and Austria.  The U.S. agrees to not give Florida statehood.

1842

Maine, Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Kansas are admitted to the Union.

1843

Mexico, Britain, and France enter into an alliance

The disputed territoy is claimed by Britain and the U.S.  The lines in the west are not exact.  Mexico, of course, is mostly south of the map.

1846

A young Prussian politician named Otto von Bismarck realizes that there will be a great war within a few years, and he starts planning to get an advantage.

1848

Revolutions break out in Europe.  Otto von Bismarck, who joined the revolution in Berlin, circulates rumors that French guerrilas are trying to overthrow the government in Prussia.

Austria believes these rumors and puts troops on their borders with France and the German states.  This causes all countries to prepare for war.

Emperor Ferdinand I is shot dead in Vienna after refusing to step down.  The war starts in Europe and in America.

1848

The U.S. advances into Canada quickly, and General Taylor leads the main part of the U.S. Army south to Texas.  He is stopped by the Mexican army in eastern Texas, and stops there for a while.

Meanwhile, reinforcements arrive in Canada from Britain.  The U.S. troops are easily stopped by the British forces in Ontario and in British Columbia.  They are pushed back to North Dakota and Lake Huron, where they put up a good defense

Prussia joins the war on the side of France, Britain and Mexico.  Austria is hit hard by invasions from almost all sides, while British and French ships dominate the sea in Europe.  There is heavy fighting in France and in North-Eastern Spain.

In November, President Polk is reelected in a close election, with much of the people unaware of the stopping of the armies in the North and South.

1849

Britain continues their dominance of the U.S., winning the Battle of Huron and establishing control of the Great Lakes, except Lake Michigan.  Attempts to beat back the British in the Northwest are futile, and on August 13 the Treaty of Toronto gives Britain the Northwest and rights to the Great Lakes.  It also disbands the American armies fighting in the North

This allows Britain to send their troops elsewhere, and they bring their troops to Spain, and set up a naval blockade.  Meanwhile, the Austrian troops have some success in the southern German States, and near the border of Prussia when their army is met.  They are failing quickly in the western front though, and their economy is greatly hurt.

1850

Austria breaks through the revolution-weakened Pruusian lines and marches north.  On June 9 they reach Berlin, and the Battle of Berlin begins.  This is known because of common people fighting for their country against Austrian invaders.  There is much fighting in the streets.  In late July, Otto von Bismarck and his rebel army take sides with the Austrians.  This tips the balance in this battle, and Prussia surrenders soon after the kaiser is Killer on July 30.  Bismarck's rebels are put in charge of the new Prussian government, and Prussia loses the respect that could have otherwise allowed them to annex the smaller German principalities.

In the west of Austria, the French troops finally break through in September, and Austia surrenders.  Some lands in southern Austria are ceded to France and smaller parts to Italy.

The U.S. and Mexico fight a hard-fought war in the south, with each side experiencing minor breakthroughs.  In the middle of the year, General Taylor dies in Southern Texas.  His troops are hurt so much by this sudden change of power that they never recover, and much of his army gives up at the Battle of the Rio Grande in October.

1851

In January, Spain is forced to surrender after a drought and a unusually cold winter hurt their crops so much that they can no longer deal with Britain's naval blockade.  They pay reparations to Britain and France

In March, French soldiers come to America, and finish off a struggling American army.  On the fourth of July, the U.S.  cedes Indian Territoty (Oklahoma) to Mexico.  They also agree to admit Florida as a slave state and no other free states.

1852

In February, Florida is admitted to the Union.

Sorry for the double post, I didn't think I'd get this done so soon.

2004:

The Presidential election drags on with neither side gaining a permanent lead. John Kerry picks John Edwards as his Vice President in hope to lure some southern states. Throughout the year the economy keeps increasing with thousands of new jobs created brining the total up to 2.8 million jobs returned to the public. The Iraqi conflict being a thorn in President Bush’s side even though the condition doesn’t improve. In late October, taking the initiative, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld resign and are replaced with Rudy Giuliani as Vice President and John McCain as Secretary of Defense.
With their help President Bush retains the presidency with a larger gap then expected.

Bush/Giuliani: 359
Kerry/Edwards: 179

2005:

While swearing in President Bush Al-Queda launches a massive terrorist attack on Washington DC by dozens of suicide bombers. While most of the attack is prevented some small pockets go off killing under 50 people, among which, Ohio Congressman Dennis Kucinich. The year goes by regularly quietly with several major protests against the US in Ontario, Canada and France and a couple hundred thousand of new jobs being created and unemployment falling to 4.6%.

2006:

When Congress reopens President Bush introduces three monumental bills. The first to activate the National Guard and round up all illegal aliens. in the US and sending them back to Mexico along with sealing off the southern boarder to all illegal traffic and to shoot anyone on site no questions asks. The second is to have a vote in Puerto Rico for either statehood or freedom, no “stay the way we are” vote allowed. The third is to ban abortion from 8 weeks on, the reason is that the fetus gets a heartbeat at that date and nothing without a heartbeat is alive. Debate rages on all three issues and the Puerto Rico bill easily passes by early July. Meanwhile Israel launches massive attacks on Palestinian settlements in early February and has succeeded in driving most of them out of Israel and into Syria.

2007:

Puerto Rico votes in mid-March and the vote is overwhelmingly in favor of Statehood with a vote of 98% for statehood to 2% for independence. Puerto Rico becomes the 51st state on April 1st. By late April Congress has grudgingly passed the last two bills and massive raids begin throughout the country. 30,000 illegals from all countries are detained and shipped back to their country of origin. The National Guard is now posted along the boarder with Mexico and is supplied with state-of-the-art military weaponry for the job at hand. Illegal immigration suddenly comes to a halt as the bodies begin to pile up along the boarder and the flow north begins to slacken. Most abortions also drop dramatically and the future looks in great shape. Rudy Giuliani announces he is seeking the Republican nomination for President in the 2008 election. A host of Democrats also throw in their names with none other than Hillary Clinton. By late 2007 Syria, Lebanon and Egypt have raised massive armies and aimed them at the heart of Israel.

2008:

Hillary and Rudy barely scrape thorough the primaries and caucuses with a majority lead of less than 15 delegates each. Both candidates pick their Vice Presidential candidates early in the election, Hillary with her husband, Bill Clinton, and Rudy with Jeb Bush. Nader also announces that he’ll run for the Progressive Party yet again and throws a surprise punch by nominating Howard Dean as his Vice Presidential candidate.. Israel’s armies have defeated the three opposing nations by early July and completely annexed all of Syria and Lebanon and all the Sinai Peninsula. The campaigning goes on as normal with Hillary’s popularity falling throughout the campaign. On election day Puerto Rico votes for the first time and it comes in at a complete tie early in the night. With Congress still in cession and still in Republican hands they quickly vote for all the electoral votes to go to Rudy. In the end the election throws a major surprise winning Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Delaware.

Giuliani/Bush: 408
Clinton/Clinton: 94
Nader/Dean: 44

Rudy wins in a virtual landslide and with Nader’s upset the Progressive Party gains federal funds and the US officially gains a third party!

Good story, KEEP GOING!!!

You would say that... its a (with all due respect) completely unlikely, wishful filling Republican day dream at least be a little bit objective for G**'s sake!

Well I got another 4 years done!

2009:

President Bush finishes out his term without much incident with the economy booming. Rudy is sworn in during a freak snow storm with many people wondering if this is a sign of the future to come. They don’t have to wait long because the next day, with the death toll soaring along the southern boarder Mexico launches a large scale attack on the southwestern US. Hoping the National Guard forces would break easily and with a transition of power taking place they could win the war within a matter of weeks. Luck not on their side the Mexican forces stall at Del Rio Texas, Columbus New Mexico, Bisbee Arizona and Calexico California. With a slow but steady pace the US forces push back the Mexican aggressors south until Mexico City is surrounded and under bombardment. Forced with the obliteration of the government Vicente Fox surrenders and gives a peace offering of 8 billion dollars and the states of Chihuahua, Sonora and the entire Baja peninsula. With the war over by early November and the public beginning to gain interest in space, Rudy funnels half of the money garnered from Mexico into former President Bush’s dream of having bases on the moon and mars.

2010:

With a large UN backlash at the US for the war with Mexico, France and Germany push a trade embargo on the US along with giving back all territory that had once been Mexico. The measure fails horribly with all nations except some Middle Eastern ones voting against it. Going against the UN, France and Germany go ahead with it anyway and all trade is cut with the US. With the UN scare over, Rudy sends the money into development on hydrogen and oxygen cars. In early December Rudy also introduces a bill into Congress to start drilling in small, selective parts of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. The rumblings of trouble begin to be heard in Canada, our neighbor to the north.

2011:

Early in the year Sudan is re-instated again as the head of the Human Rights Commission. The US protests it with every tooth and nail but with no change in site the US pulls out of the UN. With the sudden pullout the UN goes into a frenzy, trying to keep itself together but with little hope. By mid-March the UN is completely disintegrated and beginning to slip from the publics mind. Israel begins its campaign against Egypt because of its complete takeover of the Suez Cannel. Rudy announces he is seeking a second term as President the day the Arctic Drilling bill is passed. In early June Alberta and Quebec proclaim they will secede from Canada unless they get equal representation in Ottawa. By late December without a Democratic candidate to come forward, Al Gore announces he will run for the Democratic nomination.

2012:

No one comes forward to challenge Gore so he wins every primary and caucus without even having to do any hard campaigning. He then picks Hillary Clinton thinking she will gain him votes in “Clinton” territory. Nader announces he won’t run for a fourth time but the Progressive Party’s supporters nominates him again anyway. He chooses Howard Dean again in light of no strong opposition for the position of Vice President. The situation in Canada reaches its boiling point as Alberta and Quebec secede. Troops are sent and Quebec is put down in a matter of weeks while Alberta resists stalwartly. Other western provinces begin to become disgusted at Ottawa’s reaction to the Alberta situation as Manitoba, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Nunavut, the Yukon, and Northwestern Territories secede along with Alberta. Rudy proclaims in late October that he will send troops to help western Canada if he’s re-elected. As the oil drilling stations begin to pop up in northern Alaska a couple hundred new jobs are created for the native people. At the end of the campaign Rudy makes a trip through all 51 states in a late attempt to win more votes.

Giuliani/Bush: 413
Gore/Clinton: 70
Nader/Dean: 63

Rudy wins again in another landslide because of the Progressive Party draining the Democrat’s votes.

Won't Nader be 80 years old in 2012?

No he won't be that old!

I'm planning on going forward a good couple of decades and probably a lot more than that!
