Welcome to the 2000 Election Game! Help sway the destiny of the election and of the nation through this interactive timeline. Here are the rules for the game:

1. Players are free to select any declared/prospective candidates from the real election with the exception of George W. Bush or Al Gore.

2. Turns shall last for two days unless otherwise noted.

3. All players are expected to create schedules with every turn. Be reasonable with how much your candidate can fit in a day's amount of time. If you take a break for a turn and make it explicitly known, then your numbers will be frozen, but neglecting to post hampers them.

4. Polls will be released at the beginning of every turn. If there is something in particular you would like to see polled, please PM me the request.

5. Endorsement requests for candidates shall be given to me through PM. Endorsements will be given out from time to time and can be used as surrogates. You will be more prone to receiving them if you have momentum in the polls.

6. Debates will occasionally be held. Candidates in the primaries are expected to participate in them.

With all of that said, the game shall begin in a few days once enough people jump in. Sign away!

"I'm John Kerry, and I'm reporting for duty!"

EDIT: Is it possible to start this around November? The other TLs took forever to get to the primaries and most people dropped out before Iowa. The Iowa Caucus is scheduled for January 24th. That'll give us about 2-3 months of solid campaigning.

That's fine with me. Does starting on November 1 sound good?

I will take Pat Buchanan for the Republican nomination and the Constitution Party nomination, simultaneously if I can.

The GOP field is shaping up to be quite interesting, but it seems we are going to need more democrats...

Maxwell is correct. It's so we can have real competition in the primaries. You're free to choose anyone else, however.

Eh, we seem to have racked up a good deal of people for this already. Would everyone be okay if the game starts later today?
