General Election: Christie vs. Biden
Christie 39, Biden 35
Christie +4

General Election: Paul vs. Biden
Biden 44, Paul 36
Biden +8

General Election: Rubio vs. Biden
Biden 44, Rubio 34
Biden +10

General Election: Cruz vs. Biden
Biden 43, Cruz 32
Biden +11

And this is from a Republican-leaning firm! Of course it's early, there are a lot of undecideds, and Biden hasn't had a gaffe in a while, but if Biden is leading someone like Rubio by 10 and only trailing Christie by 4 before any campaigning, the news isn't all bad.

"Big" Joe Biden is a solid fallback option if Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren both tragically die between now and 2016.

Here are the Biden vs. Christie numbers:

But the other numbers are blocked by a paywall.  Are you a subscriber, or did you get these numbers from another source?

He performs a little better here than I expected. When push comes to shove though he won't be the nominee. No matter what there will be someone to defeat him with a rare exception of Clinton, Warren, O'Malley, and Cuomo don't run. The best chance for Biden is to have a huge field and hope some other candidates chop into Hillary Clinton's lead.

He'd still have to get past Hillary (unless the Unthinkable happens to the President) to be elected President.

Maybe a bunch of Republican pols make him look great by contrast.

I'd like to see another pollster poll these matchups. There seem to be way too many undecideds.

Or if they are "persuaded" not to run.
