And there's a third village in Schleswig-Holstein with an extraordinary result: Dreggers.
Most of its 24 voters gave their vote to the AfD:

But yes: most German firms have strong and observable house biases.

The founder and CEO of Forsa, for example, is Manfred Güllner, who is not only a member of the SPD, but also belongs to the neoliberal Seeheimer Kreis wing of his party.

I think most of the problems with Manfred Güllner/Forsa don't stem from his SPD membership, but his flamboyant personality.

For a social scientist he's remarkably incapable of making an objective analysis. Instead, he has a definitive tendency for sensationalism and flair for the dramatic. His institute's raw numbers must always be mixed with his personal polemics.

In Fredeburg, however, where the Greens received a majority, the AfD ironically didn't get one single of the 27 votes. However, the PARTEI and the BGE (basic income party) received votes; hence it's a freedom municipality. Tongue

Wow, I hadn't realised that SPD + Linke combined was less than the Union.
Hasn't that been the case for at least the past five years (ignoring the Schulz surge)?

Perhaps it has, but I had not realised it.

Okay. #timesup
If you want to join the SPD in order to thwart their grand coalition plans, you have tough luck in doing so, cause today's deadline has ended. Hence you have to place your trust in the 24,339 year-to-date new party members.

All those Schleswig-Holstein results remind me of the Maine results. Aren't there several tiny municipalities in your home state where only Jill and Gary received votes?

No municipalities where they were the plurality, but certain precincts, if I remember correctly.

Clickable new map of the 2017 federal election results by town (there are 11.000):

https://interaktiv.morgenpost.de/gemeindekarte-bundestagswahl-2017

I think this is the first map of its kind.

White = no inhabitants.

Also do not forget the +/- zoom sign at the bottom right, to show results for small towns.

I don't like how they don't carve up the cities, leaving areas like Koln, Berlin, Munich, and Dresden as big Black blobs rather than detailed maps. But yes, it is certainly nice to see a map like this.

Here is their ward map of Berlin.
If you click on the legend on the left, you'll see each party's strongholds.

Great work, Realpolitik!
I'd love to see an AfD vs. Linke map of Berlin.

The coalitiontalks are done. Apparently the SPD will get the Foreign, Finance, Labour, Family, Environment and Justice ministries. CSU will get the Interior with an added "homeland" portfolio with Horst Seehofer as minister. Olaf Scholz seems poised to become Finance minister according to DPA.

According to Tagesschau, a coalition agreement has been reached.

Meanwhile, the newest INSA poll is a disaster for the so-called grand coalition:

CDU/CSU: 30.5%
SPD: 17%
AfD: 15%
Greens: 12.5%
Left: 11%
FDP: 10%
Others: 4%

http://www.wahlrecht.de/umfragen/insa.htm

Grand colation is without a majority (47.5%), versus 48.5% all others above 5%. GREAT JOB!

Schulz is a complete scumbag. I hope the party referendum fails bigly. If that goes through, I'd consider leaving the party since I can't represent such a lack of principles and flip-flopping anymore.

CDU are really pushovers, giving the Foreign, Finance, and Justice ministries to the SPD who are in a bigger pickle than they are...laughing stock.

Shame they didn't keep the Finance ministry away from the hands of Scholz the clown
