Sinn Fein will probably suffer some votes to SDLP.  There has been a whole series of missteps from bank robberies, to provos in Colombia etc. and now this.

What's especially damaging to Sinn Fein is the fact that the McCartney family are (or were) mostly Sinn Fein voters.
I reckon this'll have a bigger effect in Belfast than the rest of NI (making Belfast South look very interesting) but I could be wrong.

It'll also be interesting to see what this does to the Unionist vote... I have a nasty feeling that it could help the DUP a lot Sad

U.U.P. is in such disarray that  anything that happens  which buys into the DUP rhetoric will win them votes.  I'll have to give my friends in Ballymena a call and see how Ian Kyle's support is these days.  They actually lived next door to the Neeson's.  Ack our Liam.

Any chance of a UUP wipeout? Most of their seats are pretty marginal nowadays...

Probably not. My prediction has them down to 3.

It's the SDLP we've got to worry about- they could go down to 1.
